Winona was preparing the extra bedroom for the new member. She kept rearranging stuff, making sure the covers were tucked tight but not too tight, opening the curtains wider every second just to give off more light but then closing them a little more to show off how decretive and fancy they were. Noni was trying to distract herself from thinking about her mother and Shannen Doherty's accident.
She always worries that her students will lose focus and cause something terrible to happen with their magic. That's why she's always reminded them to stay calm and focused. Of course Noni thinks that it isn't enough.
There was a knock on the front door downstairs, causing the woman to snap her head around and her breath to quicken. She took a deep breath and envisioned the tea she had been drinking all morning flowing through her veins and calming her. She went downstairs to the front door to put on a smile before slowly creeping it open. A boy with dark hair and a slim face stood there with his hand on the handle of his suitcase on wheels.
He smiles back at the lady. "Hey, you must be miss Ryder." He says. Noni nods trying to keep up her grin. On the inside she was screaming in fear. "And you must be Finn. Come in." The boy drags his suitcase behind him as the woman opens the door a little wider and steps aside for him to enter through the small hallway. He stood in the middle of the big house with a very high ceiling and railing along the top floor that stood out just a bit and many doors.
"Woah, it's bigger than I thought. And you built all this?" He asks now looking down at his new supreme. His question brought back a bad memory, making her hatred towards his mother grow stronger. "Yep and I was only sixteen, as was your mother." Finn Wolfhard nods with amazement as he looks around and spots all of the very open rooms that surround him on the first floor. One with lots of book shelves and another with a record player and grandfather clock and sofas really caught his eye. They were pretty big.
Noni kept a very close eye on the boy, but shamed herself for doing so because she was so paranoid over him. So what if he inherited his mother's powers, he didn't ask for it. "I'll give you tour now since the girls will be home from school in about half an hour." Winona explains before walking off to a room along the same wall as the front door. Finn follows closely behind, carrying his luggage behind him.
"This is classroom. This is where I teach the girls about their special abilities and how they can use them for good use." The room had a blackboard hung up on one wall with six school desks and chairs facing it along with shelves full of books and filing cabinets on the wall across from the blackboard. Winona took the new boy to the room next door to that one, which was one of the rooms that peaked his interest. "This is the library where I have books all of my books, educational and fun novels and such. You can use it any time you'd like, just be sure to take good care of them."
The big open space had books lined up against the walls with two sofas, one in the corner by one of the two fireplaces and the other against a small piece of wall that sort of separates the two entrances to the library. Finn seemed pretty impressed with how many books she owned. He wasn't much of a reader though. The tour continued on with Winona showing him the grand kitchen, the dining area, the living room, the laundry room, the two bathrooms, the greenhouse and his bedroom.
"And this is your new room. You can decorate it however you'd like and maybe even rearrange the furniture, I really don't mind. You should see Sadie's room, there are vines hanging from the ceiling around her bed and it's just so beautiful." Finn walks around his room for a bit, running his hand over his new bed and the wooden dresser. He was so happy to be in a new place like this. He had his powers since he was eight and he finally belonged to a coven after years of begging his mother.
He sat his bag atop his bed before turning to Noni. "I really like this place. I've always wanted to be in a coven and learn more about my gift. Shannen never really tried to teach me anything." The older lady nods softly and crossed her arms. "Yeah, your mother never really wanted to learn how to enhance her craft. She hardly ever used her powers." Winona reminisced, Finn nodding. He never really understood his mother, he doesn't know what happened in the eighties.
The door from downstairs creaks followed by some footsteps and laughs. "Noni, we're home!" Millie shouts. The brunette woman smiles as she gestured for Finn to follow her so he could meet the girls. Noni walks down the stairs with Finn behind, excited to introduce himself and get to know the others. He hopes that they're accepting and that they'll like him.
They reach the bottom of the stairs as the girls were stood around lallygagging quietly until the other two were down the stairs and stood before them. The three girls all stood there with confusion as their eyes never leave the boy who awkwardly, yet excitedly, stood beside the supreme, noticing how silent it was. "Girls, this is Finn Wolfhard and he will be joining us because he wants to learn more about his power." Lilia glares at him as she's not ready for a new person. Millie just stood there quietly waiting to hear the rest as Sadie wasn't even paying attention to what was going on because she was singing a song about her new boyfriend in her head.
"What can you do?" The young brunette with a faded english accent finally questions after it got quite again. Finn clears his throat and cups his hands in front of him to really concentrate. A small water orb appears from thin air causing Noni to jump a little and the three girls to all mentally gasp at once. Their eyes nearly popped out of their skulls as questions started to build up in their minds.
The water disappeared and he rests his arms beside him with a small nervous chuckle. "Sorry that's pretty much all I know how to do." He excused himself. Winona searches for a reaction from the girls and they all looked absolutely mortified. Lilia finally spoke up asking a rather important question. "Is your mother Shannen Doherty?" Finn glanced around at everyone as they all wait to hear him out. "Well Shannen Wolfhard now because she's been married for almost twenty years, but yeah."
The girls began to panic and bicker, asking Noni if she's out of her mind. He wasn't welcomed and he didn't feel very welcomed. "Ladies," The supreme spoke to get everyone's attention. The girls settle down as Finn wonders why it's such a big deal. Do they hate him for his mother? "Just because Shannen is his mother and he inherited her abilities, does not mean we should be mean towards a member who is willing and committed to learning more about becoming a water warlock." She put an arm around the young man with frizzy dark hair that was almost like his mother's.
"Water sorcerer." He corrects. Finn never really liked being called a warlock or a witch, as he thought it sounded evil and scary. The girls bicker again, talking about how much of a douche he was for calling himself sorcerer. "Girls please be kind. It's not his fault for what happened all those years ago and I'll teach him about relaxation and concentration so something like that never happens again. Please just give Finn a chance, this boy knows nothing at all."
"Noni we don't want him here even if he didn't know that he had powers. He's related to a bully and a murderer." The blonde wearing black lipstick and dark drawn on eyebrows spat out. Millie nods in agreement with her arms crossed over chest. Of course they'd be the ones to not welcome them, their powers are enemies. Water and fire, electricity and water, they don't mix. Their mentality is that Finn will screw up their powers and cause some damage.
Sadie couldn't care anymore. She was head over heels in love. "Welcome to the family Finn. Nothing can bring me down today because I have a boyfriend!" The ginger sung again as she skips and dances up the stairs happily announcing that she was in a real relationship. She did that all the way to her bedroom then rolled a victory joint as the rest of them were still downstairs. Noni, for the first time in her entire life, gave the girls a stern look.
"He's staying and I want you two to be nice." And with that she left to go to the kitchen. Finn wanted to ask why they hated him and his mom so much, but thought that would make them even angrier. The girls stomp upstairs as they give Finn dirty looks. He stood there at the bottom of the stairs telling himself that it didn't bother or hurt him, but it slightly did. He just wants to be apart of something, but he's not gonna let those girls tear him down.

HIIEEEEEEEEE!!!
So yesterday was just awful for me, mainly because all I could worry about was my birthday because I really don't know what to expect to happen. Also I stressed myself out so much that I declared that I looked too fat to wear clothes to go out with my family last night so instead I stayed home ate pizza bagels while crying about how jealous I am of the Stranger Things cast. It's a long and complicated story but I'm decent now so that's good ig.🔮
