The blonde girl was reading a history textbook while writing about who Suzan B. Anthony was in an old music shop downtown. Lilia worked at Birdie's Record and Guitar Shop part time. She liked everything about working there from the smell of old dusty vinyl record cases, to the sweet sound of the bell above the door that always rings when someone enters or exits. It wasn't your regular high pitched ringing though, it was much deeper and it was hung above the door by some thread and a hook in the ceiling.

"Lilia," Birdie, her manager, spoke in his gruff voice from the break room. The teenager sat her pencil down as she heard footsteps getting closer and closer. The heavy set man with a grey goatee and a pair of small and thin silver glasses steps out adjusting his old brown leather jacket and fedora. "I'm going out to get something to eat across the street. Do you want anything?" He asks the blonde leaning against the counter. She shook her head. "No thank you." Her voice was soft. Birdie nods and waves her bye as he left the shop, the bell ringing as he exits.

Lilia hasn't been feeling well lately. She's much sadder than usual and feels like she can't talk to anybody about it or do something. Well, there is one thing. The silence in the store allowed Lilia to think a lot, too much. It was almost always quiet, even with costumers in the store or the sound of guitar strumming in the back. Lilia did a lot of thinking when she was here. When she started working here it bothered her that it was always so quiet, but lately it's been driving her insane as it forces her to listen to her own sad and painfully dark thoughts. 'She doesn't love me,' she thinks. 'She never did.'

Tears feel like they're boiling in the back of her brown eyes as more thoughts flood her mind. Her wrist start to tingle, reminding her that there's a way to make herself feel much better and that she doesn't have to feel this way. The young teenage blonde had accidentally let a tear slip out of her eye and fall onto the paper she had been writing on. It formed a small translucent puddle that was only taunting her. She had enough of this manipulation, she sat her pencil down and grabbed her backpack that was sitting on the floor beside her before heading to the back room.

Lilia stood in the small bathroom with the door locked, the yellow fluorescent light shining down on her as it makes that quiet little buzzing sound, and a thin razor blade in her hand. She sat it down on the edge of the sink before grabbing the sleeve of her black shirt and lifting it up to her elbow while she sniffled. She took her many bracelets off and set them beside the blade before picking it up and holding the tip of it against her light soft skin between the other scars on her arm. She slowly dragged it across, sobbing as she did. It made her feel more alive. Lilia never thought that she would become a cutter as she knew that it was awful and quite painful, but the pain is what makes it great. It numbs her like some sort of drug.

She stares down at her arm covered in scars. Sometimes at night when she's too tired to get up and cause more damage she'll run her fingers over it slowly feeling how bumpy and shredded it is. Lilia stares at herself in the mirror for a moment before sniffling one last time and then deciding to clean up. She rinsed the blade, fixed her sleeve, and dried her tears. She put her long golden blonde hair up into a ponytail before noticing a small puddle of blood in the sink, similar to the tear drop that landed on her history paper. She turned the water on and rinsed it down the drain before grabbing her bag and going back to her spot behind the counter.

When Lilia stepped out into the main part of the store, her eyes landed on a familiar face who was standing by a crate of records only a few feet away from her. She stopped and they look at each other, Jaeden smiling but neither of them had said a word just yet. The girl didn't wanna talk to him, it would only confuse her and make her frustrated. She tries to keep her head down before continuing her assignment. "Lils, I don't get a hello? Come on." Jaeden teased as he walked up to the counter and leaned against it with a charming little grin. The blonde kept her eyes on her paper as she continued writing whatever information was in her history textbook.

Jaeden noticed that she was ignoring him and turned serious. "What's the matter? I told you I was coming in today." Lilia said nothing, for if she said something then the boy would try to get more out of her. The tall teenage boy didn't think that he was the reason why Lilia was acting all strange and ignoring him, he thought it might be something else and that maybe he could help her out. He stood up quietly and walked around the counter to stand behind her. The brunette boy went to wrap his arms around her waist but she pushed him away quickly as she turned around, looking at him in anger. He was shocked.

"Lils, what's going on with you? I thought you liked me." His words made Lilia want to cry and shoot lasers out her eyes at him, which she could do but she doesn't really like to use her powers outside of home much. Instead of doing all of that, she went back to writing her paper and ignoring him. "Is it something I did this morning because you've been treating me like this since lunch." "...you're only trying to fix this because I said that we would try anal today." The blonde concludes in a mutter, not yet taking her eyes off of her homework. Jaeden took a step closer to her. "No, I don't care about that. I'm trying to fix this because I don't want my possible girlfriend to be mad at me.

That word, girlfriend. It made Lilia's blood boil. She wanted to be his girlfriend, but also didn't. She didn't want to turn this into an argument either, she wanted him to get the fuck out. "Jaeden, go." The blonde spoke through gritted teeth as she struggles to hold in her emotions. He wasn't leaving without an answer. "Lilia please talk to me. How can we be together if you won't open up to me?" Jaeden's voice was causing her so much pain. If she could make him explode here in this store than she would. She slammed her pencil down on the floor as she whipped around to face him. "I said go!" She roared.

Instead of continuing to fight the crying girl, Jaeden left the store more confused and frustrated than ever. The bell ringing as he opened the door and left. Lilia set her face in her hands as she sobbed. She hates this feeling, the feeling of liking two people.
