The day after my birthday I woke up sick and ran to the bathroom, throwing up everywhere.
"Not again!" I cried as I washed my face and mouth off.
I shuffled back to my bed and curled up into a ball. I just felt like garbage, no wait more than just garbage, I felt like a whole dump of garbage.
I was moaning and groaning, when I looked up and saw I hadn't changed my calendar since last month.
I got up to change it when my eyes looked down at the little red dot on one of the weeks. I use red dots to track when my periods should happen and I put a pink dot on the days it does happen.
There was only one problem, there were no pink dots.
Surely that couldn't be right though, I mean I'm a pretty regular person, plus I've NEVER slept with a guy my whole life. EVER.
I must have just forgotten to write it down, since learning of my Mom's cancer. Yep, that has to be it....right?
All of a sudden, I felt sick again and ran to the bathroom throwing up again. What the heck is wrong with me?!
I went and laid back down, until I felt better, which only took like five minutes .
I decided I was gonna go see Grace and how she was feeling. Maybe she was experiencing the same coming and going sickness like I was.
I borrowed the keys for the car and left for Grace's house.
On the ride over I tried to think of when I first felt sick. I realized I've been really tired the last month, but the last time I felt horrible was after my last sleepover with Grace, about 6 weeks ago. Hmmm, maybe she gave me the wrong pill? I decided I'd ask her about it.
I knocked on the door and a minute later Mrs. Jones answered it. I noticed she looked really tired and strained. It must be because Grace has been sick and because of how horrible Josh is turning out. I quickly gave her a hug and she smiled at me and let me in.
I walked up to Grace's room and opened the door to see Grace watching her favorite tv show Once Upon A Time.
"Hey Stranger. How you feeling?" I asked when she noticed me.
"Tay-Tay, it's so good to see you. I'm slowly doing better." She smiled at me and motioned for me to join her.
I sat down on her bed and watched a little Tv with her before I decided to ask her about the pill.
"So Grace, I need to ask you something." I stated turning her attention away from her show.
"Sure thing. What's up?" She asked me giving me her full attention.
That's one thing I love about her, no matter what she is doing if I need to talk to her about something she gives me her full attention.
"Well Grace. The last time I was over I found the pill and the note you put out for me and I think you might have given me the wrong thing cause it made me sick. Like my abdomen hurt to the point I could barely walk, and I felt tired and drowsy. Oh, and now I think I have your flu cause I've been throwing up, and then after I lay down for a while I feel fine. So um I was wondering what pill you could have possibly given me other than a sleeping pill?"
"Ummmm....Taylor. I didn't put any pill and note out for you. I was asleep way before you.....remember?" Grace said just as confused as I was.
Someone was coming down the hall and we turned and saw it was Josh.
"Hey Josh come here!" Grace called out to him.
I gave her a weird look and she whispered,
"Maybe he knows something about it."
I nodded as Josh sat down on Grace's bean bag.
"What do you need, Gracie?" Josh asked.
"Well apparently when Taylor came over last time somebody left a sleeping pill and a note out for her saying it was from me, but I didn't do it. Now she thinks it was the wrong pill cause it made her sick. Did you perhaps do it or know who did?"
"Wait Grace. I just remembered Josh wasn't here last time I was over." I informed her before Josh could even answer.
The room was silent when all of a sudden Josh started laughing. And it wasn't the happy kind of laughing, no it was almost scary kind of laughing. Like the kind you would hear from a crazy person in a horror movie.
Grace and I both slowly turned and looked at him and then each other, both obviously creeped out.
"Do--do you know um something J-J-J-Josh?" Grace stuttered.
"Oh I know something alright." Josh said in a creepy voice that made my blood curl.
"It was the perfect plan really. A.J. planned it, she never liked you, Taylor. You stole her best friend from her. Before you came along, Kimmy and her were the best of friends, you ruined everything for her. She decided she'd pay me to take away two of the most important thing from you. She gave me the drugs and then I waited for the perfect night to do it."
"Josh what are you talking about?" Grace nervously asked, playing with her hair.
"I put the drug out and the drugged water with a fake note from Grace. And you, Taylor, were stupid enough to take it just like I planned. You were so tired you came into the study and thought I was Grace...."
"No Josh. No it can't be." Grace obviously was coming to the same disturbing thought I was coming to.
"I took the first thing that night, and then I took the second thing by making Kimmy my girlfriend." Josh laughed to himself.
Josh got up and walked over to me and leaned down next to my ear, "I took your virginity Taylor. What do you think about that?"
I gasped, and Grace screamed. Everything after that happened in a blur.
Grace grabbed her old soft ball bat and was all of a sudden swinging at Josh like a mad man....um woman.
I jumped up and grabbed her waist trying to hold her back, but not before she gave him a good whack to his shoulder.
He yelped before running down the stairs and out of the house.
Thank goodness Mrs. Jones had left earlier.
"Grace, I need to take a test." I gulped.
"I was cleaning my mom's bathroom last week and found one in the very back of her drawer. It's probably back from when she found out she was having me. So it's pretty old, but it's new so it should hopefully work." Grace whispered to me avoiding eye contact.
We walked to her mom's room and Grace located the pregnancy test. She handed it to me before she left the bathroom.
I stood there by myself for a moment, before reading the instructions and taking the test.
I just stared down at the little test in my hand. The thing that was about to tell me my future from here on out. The answer appeared and it was a...........
