2 years earlier - Taylor's Sophmore Year

"Taylor, guess what?!?!" Grace yelled jumping up and down like a little kid at Disneyland...

Well, I guess how a kid acts at Disneyland. I've never actually been to Disneyland, or any theme park, since we can't afford it. I know if I got to go though I'd be jumping just like Grace, but I don't think her excitement today is about Disneyland. After all she just went last Spring break with her parents. Plus, Grace hates roller-coasters or any ride that drops you. I think they sound fun, adventurous, and......

"OH MY GOSH TAYLOR YOU TAKE FOREVER TO GUESS! YOU AREN'T SUPPOSE TO THINK ABOUT IT WHEN I SAY, "GUESS WHAT" YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE "I DON'T KNOW, WHAT?" THAT WAY I CAN TELL YOU FASTER!" Grace rambled on and on faster then a runaway train.

"Just tell me already, Grace!" I laughed as she tried to catch her breath.

Whatever she had to tell me must be really exciting because I've never seen Grace act like this before.

"OK! So my older brother Josh is FINALLY coming home after being in his special boarding school for the last 4 years! He'll be home on Saturday!!!"

"Yay! I'm so happy for you!!" I smiled and jumped up and down with her.

I've never met her brother Josh before. All I know is that he had to go to a special school across the country because he is severely bipolar. He could go from being the nicest person in the world to being extremely angry and abusive towards people.

"I'm glad he is doing so well that he can finally come home." I whispered to Grace as I hugged her tight.

For the rest of the night, we talked about her brother and planned his welcome home party.

**SATURDAY**

"JOSH!!!" Grace screamed as she tackled her brother with a hug.

People in the airport turned and smiled at our little group. We must have been a sight to see with me holding the "Welcome Home" sign and Grace and her parents all hugging Josh and crying.

After, a couple minutes they parted and I got a glimpse of Josh for the first time. I let out a small gasp before I could help myself. Josh was freaking gorgeous!

He had super blonde hair that he constantly had to shake out of his eyes. His eyes were the same sparkling blue as Grace's and he had the perfect white smile that you only see on toothpaste commercials.

"Who's this Gracie?" Josh asked Grace as he looked at me.

"Only my best friend in the whole wide world. So you know no one important." Grace replied with her voice thick in sarcasm. Josh and I looked at Grace, and we both rolled our eyes at the same time.

He noticed that we did which made him smile his perfect grin again. He reached his hand out and ruffled my hair before turing to Grace and saying,

"I like this kid Grace. Good friend choice."

He then winked at me before turning to his parents and talking with them. Grace quickly changed the topic to other things and I just stood there confused by what I just felt.

Why was I all of a sudden crushing on my best friend's brother? I just met the dude for pete's sake!

Besides he use to be extremely abusive to his family and friends 4 years ago. Especially his best friend at the time, he hurt her so bad that it was either prison or boarding school for him. He obviously chose boarding school/rehab in order to get his life straightened out.

Now, here he is home again and supposedly all better. But can I trust a boy like him?

Something in my gut tells me that there is still more to this guy then what meets the eye, and that is what scares me most.

The car ride home was a long one as I heard Josh go on and on about his experience at his school and all of his friends he had made there. It was hard to imagine that this kid had ever had any problems to begin with. He seemed like the most joyful guy and not to mention he was extremely handsome. I felt myself blush whenever he glanced my way.

When we arrived at my house Josh offered to walk me to the door and his family all smiled and said sure. So I climbed out of the car and started the walk to my front door.

"So...." Josh started and I turned my attention towards him.

"Yes?" I responded waiting to hear what he would say.

"Well...I heard you're a sophomore like me because you skipped a grade. Is that right?" He asked.

"Yyyesss, I am." I stammered back to him.

"Hahaha no need to be nervous around me Miss Smartie Pants. Just try not to fall in love with me ok? I saw you checking me out." He laughed again at me as I turned a deep red.

He then stopped in his tracks, and glanced over his shoulder to make sure we were out of the view of the van. Before I could react, he violently grabbed my arm, pulled me behind the bushes with him and pulled my head close to his so that my ear was touching his lips.

"Just remember, Taylor you may be my sister's "best friend" but that doesn't mean a bloody thing to me. Capiche?"

His spit went in my ear as he deeply whispered to me. I got chills all over my body...but not the good kind...oh no I was terrified.

He left go of my arm and pushed me towards my front door. Then he smirked at me before turning around and walking back to his car.

I leaned my back against the door and desperately tried to slow down my now fast beating heart.

I had a feeling he was going to prove my theory right. I couldn't trust a guy like him, even if he was my best friend's brother.
