Chapter 5 The Past Part 3
Blinding white lights.....That's all I saw when I first opened my eyes. Slowly, they adjusted to reveal a hospital room.
I was hurting in more places then I cared to count. I slowly moved my hand up to my head to feel a bandage going all the way around. I then looked down to see very thick bandages going all the way around my chest down to where my stomach begins.
The massive wooden door to my left creaked open and I saw my mom's face looking in at me.
"Mom. I hurt. Bad." I somehow spit out as the tears came falling down my face.
I began to sob which I realized was a BAD idea for it caused a very sharp pain in my ribs.
Before I could help it I let out a blood-curling scream and continued screaming as doctors and nurses came pouring in my room.
"Hold her down! She's going into shock!"
The big, buff, bald guy yelled. I guess he was the doctor.
Nurses ran over and lightly grabbed my shoulders, gently lying me back down on the bed. The doctor then shined a light in my eyes and checked my pulse. When he seemed sure that I wasn't in shock, or no longer in shock, he sighed and had the nurses let go of me.
Then the doctor accidentally touched my ribs and I screamed again.
"Oh, I see. She isn't in shock she is in major pain. Someone please go get the next dose of her pain killer."
He then turned to me and said, "I'm sorry Taylor. I didn't mean to brush up against your ribs....Now I'm gonna tell you what I know... So you were discovered at a party by a young man, and he called an ambulance. Shortly after he called us, you slipped into a coma from a very huge welt on you head. Its a miracle you woke up today, we weren't sure when you were going to make it out of it. You also had three broken ribs that we had to take care of, which is why you are experiencing so much pain......So now, I'm going to ask you an important question. Do you remember anything from that night?"
Did I remember anything? I wasn't sure, my brain kind of felt like it was in a fog. All I could remember was little bits and pieces and even those were just a little foggy.
"I remember my mom dropping me off at Aj's.....I thought....I thought it was gonna be just a couple girls, not the whole high school..... See I've never been invited to a high school party before, I didn't know what it was like. I remember I found my good friend Kimmy drunk.....and I was really mad so I stormed outside.....But I can't remember what happened next. I just remember someone hitting me and I fell and then Alex was there next to me......and then....then.... I don't know anything else. I guess thats where I slipped into the coma."
"Ok. Thank you for remembering what you could, that was very helpful. Let us know if you remember anything else. But for the meantime, just get some rest sweetie, ok?"
"Ok. Thank you Doctor..." I faded off not knowing his name.
"Shaw. Phillip Shaw."
"Ok. Thank you Dr. Shaw."
He smiled at me and shook my mom's hand before walking out of the room.
"Hey Mom." I whispered.
"Taylor....Oh Honey! I didn't know if you were gonna wake up! What if you had died! It would have been all my fault because I let you go to that stupid party!" She was sobbing uncontrollably as she grasped my hand tight.
"Its not your fault Mama. Its mine. I should have told you I've been getting bullied....I love you, so much." I whisper to her, trying to calm her down.
