Stevie was greeted with silence as she exited hers and Lindsey's portion of the trailer. She slowly approached the breakfast nook where all the men were seated, giving them a small smile. "Hey guys."
Mumbled hellos where given out, Lindsey giving her a small grin. She went to sit next to him, Brian leaping from his seat and stopping her.
"Wait!"
Stevie looked at him confused as he ransacked the cupboards. He pulled out an old towel, laying it out on the seat. "There you go."
"Jesus Christ!" Stevie snatched the towel away, chucking it across the trailer. "I'm not going to bleed all over your stuff!"
Lindsey snickered behind his coffee, patting the seat next to him. "Come here babe."
Stevie huffed, sinking down next to Lindsey. She felt a bit of her irritation edge away when his hand squeezed her knee, his lips meeting her shoulder.
"What's the plan for today?" She asked Lindsey.
"Nothing. We don't have a show, nowhere to be. What
do you want to do?"
"Hmm." Stevie pondered her thoughts, picking a piece of fruit off his plate. The other guys gawking at how comfortable the two were with each other. "Can we go to the beach?"
"Sounds bitchin. Go get ready and I'll follow after you."
"Great." Stevie smiled, squeezing his hand before retreating.
The remaining group around the breakfast nook looked at Lindsey dumbstruck.
"Come here babe." Brian imitated Lindsey in a higher register. "What the hell was that dude!"
Lindsey frowned, shrugging them off. "What are you taking about?"
"You're in love with this chick."
"You're insane."
Brian made the sound of a whip cracking along with the hand movements; letting out a whistle. "She's got you on a tight leash dude."
"No one has anything on anyone, cool it." He rolled his eyes.
"We had plans Lindsey, you're just going to blow us off for your fuck buddy?" Javier slumped against the table.
"Hey, don't talk about her that way." Lindsey pointed threateningly at him. "And your plans were to get stoned and pass out."
Javier just shrugged, reaching for a piece of toast. "Suit yourself man."
Lindsey shook his head, pushing himself away from the table, planning the day ahead of him.
.............
The sun was burning bright, the waves crashing on the shore as the current pushed them forth. Stevie waded knee-high in the water, chuckling as Lindsey hesitantly followed her.
"What are you so afraid of?"
"That a shark's going to bite my fucking leg off."
Stevie laughed, splashing water at him. "Sharks don't come up in the shallows Lindsey."
"Have you ever seen Jaws?"
Stevie shook her head laughing. Leaning over and cupping the water in her hands.
"SHIT!"
She jumped back up, her eyes wide as she watched Lindsey sprint towards the shore.
