* Nathan’s POV *
The next morning I was the first one awake. Jackie feel asleep with Brook in her arms on the air mattress. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. In my mind I could picture our son and daughter falling asleep in her arms like that. I started thinking about our future. Maybe I could teach our son how to swim, and Jackie could teach our daughter how to dance and sing. Maybe it’d be the other way around, or maybe they’d learn to do something different. Either way I wanted to be the best father I could. I want the twins to be able to talk to me about anything, any type of advice they need. All of a sudden, the house phone rang. I ran to it so it wouldn’t wake up the two princesses.
“Hello?” I said softly.
“Nathan, hey it’s your father.”
“Hey dad.” i was shocked.
“I’ve decided to come down when you mother does. I wanna meet my grandchildren. I hope you don’t mind.”
“I don’t mind at all, I want you to meet them” I was surprised to hear he was coming to see me. “I’m happy for you Nate, I really am. Can I ask you something? You called your mom a few days ago, asking her advise about rings. Are you thinking of proposing? I want you to know I’m behind you 100%. I want you to be happy, I’m sorry I made you feel like you’re not good enough in my eyes.”
“Thank you dad, that means a lot to me, honestly. I did call her, I bought the ring already. It’s nothing fancy.” I looked back to see the two still sleeping. “I have to ask for help.”
“Help?” he questioned.
“Yeah, from a little princess.” I smiled “Jackie’s niece, I want her to help me.” I started telling him about what Brook said to us last night.
“How old is this little girl?!”
“Six! I can’t believe she’s so strong.” I felt a tug at my pants, it was Brook.
“Dad, I’ll call you back okay, I promise.”
“I love you son, I just want you to know that.”
“I love you too.” I hung up the phone. “Well good morning princess.” she put up her arms and I picked her up. “Can I ask you something?” she rubbed her eyes, nodding yes. “I bought your Aunty a ring, I want to make her officially my queen. Would you be okay with that?”
“Yes! I want you to be her king! You make her smile, I love when Aunty Jac smiles!” It amazed me how someone so innocent and small could have such an impact on you.
“You’re adorable!” I rubbed her back, putting her down. “Let’s make breakfast for the queen!”
“And the babies!” She added “Deanna, and Dalton! Do you think they’ll look like Aunty or you?”
“Hopefully her, I’m not very good looking.”
“I think you’re very handsome Nathan” she smiled “And Aunty Jac is very pretty” I put the bacon on the pan.
“She’s beautiful, and she’s smart.”
“She told me last night that you give the best hugs.” she hugged my leg. “would you be mad if I called you uncle Nathan? My other uncle is mean, but you’re very nice to me.” my heart melted in her hands.
“If you want to Brook, you can.”
“Under one condition.” she pointed her finger at me. “Marry my Aunty first.” I laughed,
“I’d love to. I promise you I will. Soon”
“Good!” she gave me a thumbs up. I heard a yawn from the living room “GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!” Brook ran over to Jackie, kissing her cheek.
