3 years later

"Alright everyone when we exit the bus go to the left. You'll see the staff waiting to escort you inside to your tables." Standing up and brushing off the wrinkles in my suit jacket I start walking towards the front of the bus. As I exit I'm blinded by the photographer's snapping pictures and taking videos of each one of us.

Today is a big day for me so I'm kind of anxious about what will happen. The only thing that could make this day much more special is if he was here with me. We haven't got to spend any time together in the past four months due to our busy schedules. I mean we do talk a few times a day and we never go to bed without FaceTiming just so we can see each other's face but I miss the hell out of him.

The first two years of college was hell for me so today I'm pushing all of that shit aside and focusing on what's ahead of me. This could be a life-changing situation for everyone in my life.

"Hey baby," my mom says as I reach the table where she's sitting. "Hey mom" I greet her with a kiss on the cheek. "What's up pops," I said giving my dad a firm handshake. "Pops stop. I told you everything will be alright. Don't worry, this is what we've been preparing for, over the last 4 months. The decision is up to them now. I've done what I needed to do so now we just have to wait" I said releasing his hand and sitting down.

My phone vibrated in my pocket so I pull it out to see who it is. I crack a smile as I read the text message.

"Sorry I couldn't be there with you tonight but when duty calls, duty calls. Emory couldn't wait to get this daddy dick so I had to be here when she returned from London. You know long distance relationships are a bitch bro and I've gone 3 1/2 months without pussy so tonight I'm putting in work. I'll be keeping up to see what happens. Might just have her riding this dick while I watch 😝. But all jokes aside I hate I'm not there with you. I know you wanted everyone you love there and since he couldn't come I hate I'm missing it. Love you for life bro."

This nigga Justin is a fool. But that's my brother and I wouldn't change him for anything. Emory changed his ass a little though. When they met their junior year at a party Justin fell in love with her and they've been together ever since. She works for her dad's company so she travels a lot back and forth overseas to make sure shit is running smoothly. She's sweet as she can be but when it comes to business she's a pit bull. I'm just glad my sis could tame Justin's goofy ass. I never thought I would see the day he would be in a monogamous relationship. I guess love can change a person.

After Justin's text, I had a series of messages from friends and family. Although I was happy to have everyone's support the one person I wanted to hear from still hadn't sent anything.

"Alright everyone let's begin shall we?" I heard as I put my phone away.

4 hours later

"Mom I'm tired. I just want to go to my room and get in the bed." "No sir you will not. You should be excited right now. You got what you wanted and we're about to go right inside this hotel and get something to eat. You know this place has the best restaurant around. Bring your ass boy" my mom said grabbing my hand. I glanced at my dad and he just smiled while shrugging his shoulders. As I'm quickly pulled through the lobby I get stopped a few times by people giving me their congratulations. It makes me smile a little but deep down I'm sad, pissed, and angry because he still hasn't called or sent any messages to me. Again I know he was going to be extremely busy today with meetings, but damn not a text or anything on one of the biggest days of my life.
