"That dress looks so cute on you!!" Screamed Ruka as she gawked at the young girl . "It's kind of tight.." said Ai as she struggled to breathe. "You look just like Lord Kaname when he was younger." Said Ruka as she smiled. "You mean, I look like the man in the ice?" Ai inquired. Ruka nodded as Ai smiled. "You will be the prettiest one at the ball!" Screamed Ruka as she tied a bow around Ai's tiny waist, completing her look.

"Oh Ai! You look so beautiful!" Said Yuki as she looked at her daughter. Ai blushed at her mother's words. "Mother, will Zero be accompanying us to the ball?" Asked Ai as she gripped her dress. "Of course." Said Yuki as she smiled.  "Thank you for everything, Ruka." Yuki said as she hugged Ruka. "Anytime." Said Ruka.

"Ai! Come here so I can do your hair!" Screamed Yuki from her bedroom. "Mother, I can do my own hair." She said as she sat on Yuki's bed. "I know... you've always been very independent. But it's your first appearance at a ball." Said Yuki as she grabbed the hairbrush. She took pieces of Ai's long, wavy hair and began brushing.  "Your hair is just like Kaname's, it even smells the same!" Said Yuki as she ran her fingers through the sections of hair. "Don't say weird stuff like that!" Screamed Ai as she blushed. Yuki chuckled. "So cute... I love you, my dear daughter." Said Yuki as she embraced Ai.

Her first appearance at a vampire ball. She could feel the anxiety eating away at her as she stepped off the carriage, clinging to her mothers hand. Maybe no one will notice...

"Ah! It's the famous Ai Kuran! You are every bit as beautiful as I pictured you to be! Care for a dance?" Said a stranger as he kissed Ai's hand. "Ahhhh! Mother!" Screamed Ai as she refused the strangers offer. "Ai, they just want to dance with you!" Said Yuki as she pushed her daughter back onto the floor. "Miss Ai! Dance with me!" "No, with me!!!" Requests came from every direction. Ai's head was spinning until she heard her mother calling for her. "Ai, its time to go!" Called Yuki as she grabbed her daughters hand.

They came to the entrance of the ball room to see a familiar face. "I'm here to escort you ladies home." Said Zero as he bowed to the girls. "Ah! Zero!!" Screamed Ai as she ran towards him. She embraced him as he picked her up and held her.

Strange... when it's Zero.. I'm happy to be held

"You did well for your first ball." Said Zero as he comforted her. He turned his gaze towards Yuki. "Later, how about you show me what that dress is made of." Zero said as he smirked. Yuki blushed and stuck her tongue out to mock him. "Now let's get you two home." He said as he escorted them.

Ai changed out of her dress as soon as she got home. She heard a knock at her door. "Ai, want to take a bath?" Said Yuki as she smiled. "S- sure mother." She said as joined her. "Ahhhhh, now this is relaxing." Said Yuki as she leaned her head back. "Ai, I'm going to tell you a story. About father Kaname, Zero, and me." This peaked Ai's interest as she listened as her mother told her the story about those three, a story she'd rather forget. "I've left out some details that are too bothersome to explain, but that's it." Said Yuki as she looked at her daughter.

"Also, I wanted to tell you that you did great today." Yuki said as she smiled. This made Ai blush. "Thank you mother." She said with a smile. After their bath, Yuki went to tuck Ai into bed. "I hope you have sweet dreams." Yuki said as she kissed Ai on her forehead. "I love you mother." Said Ai as she pulled Yuki back down for a hug. "I love you too, my dear daughter."
