"Yuki, are you sure you're okay?" Said Kaname as he peered down at the girl next to him. "Yes, I'll be fine." She answered as she smiled her radiant smile that made Kaname's heart skip a beat. The two joined arms and proceeded to open the large cedar doors into the grand ballroom. This was a ball for all of the vampire aristocrats, with the Kurans being the center of attention. All eyes shifted abruptly to the Purebloods, especially Yuki, since this was her first appearance after returning to her vampire self. "I'm going to go socialize, do you need anything?" Asked Kaname in a soft voice.

"No I'm fine!" Yuki said as she let go of Kanames warm hand. "Alright then, if you're sure." Said Kaname, a bit of hesitance in his voice. Yuki moved about the elaborate ballroom floor, stopping to talk here and there. Eventually, she made her way to the balcony, needing to catch some fresh air. "Wow, I've never had that many people want to shake my hand before.." said Yuki as she stared longingly at the stars. "I knew I'd find you out here." Came a soft, familiar voice. Yuki immediately recognized it, the voice of the one she left behind. "Ze-ro?" She asked softly.

Why would he be here? A hunter at a vampire ball? Zero was here, right in front of her.

Yuki... you look so beautiful in that dress

Zero... how do I look?

"Zero I-!" She was stopped by a hand covering her mouth. "Yuki, I need you to listen to me." He said as he removed his hand from her mouth. "I need you to forget about me." He said in a low tone. Yuki's eyes immediately shot open, tears coming to them. "Forget you!? How can you possibly ask me to do that Zero?!" She screamed as the tears fell from her giant brown orbs. "You'll be much happier if I'm not in the back of your mind. You're a Pureblood, I'm a hunter. No relationship between us could possibly work." He said as he went to wipe away her tears. His hand was knocked away by yet another familiar hand. "Pft, Kaname Kuran." He whispered. "Why have you come here Zero?" Asked Kaname in a serious tone.

"That's none of your business, Vampire." Said Zero as he went to walk away. "K-Kaname, what is... happen-.." Stammered Yuki as a black darkness overcame her. Kaname took Yuki into his arms. "I'm well aware you want what's best for Yuki. However, I don't think I can go through with what you want me to." Kaname said sternly as he gazed at the girl In his arms. Zero looked at Yuki, knowing he continuously causes her pain. This was the girl he loved, but could not be with. "But, if you'd like, I can erase your memory of her." Kaname said as he stared at Zero, waiting for his answer. This was killing Zero, but he knew it was what was best for Yuki.

"Kaname, erase both mine and Yuki's memories of each other." He said, making up his mind. Kaname was taken aback, but agreed to the request. Zero prepared himself for losing the memories of the one who had always been there. Yuki, the girl he loved, was no more. He looked at the sky, thinking how the stars resembled her bright, sparkling eyes.
