Yuki sat up late at night watching the first snow fall of the winter from her bedroom window. A month had passed since she left with her lover, Kaname Kuran, to go back to the place they grew up. She thought about her friends from back at Cross Academy, and her past job as a member of the disciplinary committee. She also thought about Zero. She thought of how the white snow reminded her of his silvery hair and how his violet eyes shone like the pale light of the moon....
There was a knock at her door, startling Yuki from her thoughts. "Yuki.. May I come in?" Said a soft voice from the other side. "Y-yes." She said as she continued to look out her window. "You've been cooped up in this room since we arrived here... are you okay?" Said a tall man as he entered the dark room. Yuki was as silent as the night. "You didn't have to do this to yourself, to come with me." Said the man as he sat down beside the quiet girl on the silken bed sheets.
"I'm aware of that fact..." she said in a hushed tone. "But, even so, I love you Kaname." She said as she broke her gaze to fix it upon the man sitting next to her. "Yes, I know." He said as he pulled Yuki closer to him. "And, I also know that you love Zero." He said while still holding her close to his chest. Yuki shuddered at the realization that Kaname could see right through her, just like always. "Alright, you need to get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow." Said Kaname as he stood up from his seat on the bed. Oh right. The ball. How could she forget?
Before he had a chance to walk away, he felt a cold hand tug on the back of his shirt. "What's the matter, Yuki? Would you like me to stay? Or rather, would you like a drink?" He said as he stared into her glowing red eyes, filled with hunger for his blood. "I see." He said as he took his place on the bed. He unbuttoned his shirt and discarded it onto the floor. "Now, drink." He said as he tilted his neck towards the hungry Pureblood beside him. Yuki nodded as she bared her fangs, and pressed them to his neck.
She could feel his blood permeating from within her. A sense of strong emotion also flooded through her, causing her to shed a tear. "Don't cry Yuki. I perhaps have longed for this day to come, where we could finally be one." Said Kaname as he patted her head. "Kaname I.." she was stopped by the feeling of lips pressing against hers. They were so soft and warm."Kaname.." she said as she pulled away, "will you stay?" Kaname stared at her, somewhat taken aback by this request. "I'll do anything for you, Yuki." He said sweetly as he lay down next to her, tracing the lace on her nightgown. It wasn't long before she drifted to sleep, with her head using his chest as a pillow. "Yuki, I promise I will never let anything happen to you. I love you." Kaname whispered.
Kaname and Yuki, the last two Pureblood Kurans... well, for now at least.
