I dropped the ring in the sand. It lay there, it's jewels gleaming in the dying rays of the sun. I felt like someone had ripped my heart out and shattered it into a million pieces. I couldn't breathe. Couldn't speak. Couldn't do anything but stare at the person I once loved.

Annabeth and Adrain started to kiss again. Salty tears ran down my face as I turned and ran back to my cabin. I collapsed onto my bed and sobbed. Memories drifted through my head, of Annabeth, of fighting monsters with her, of nighttime picnics with her, of falling into Tartarus for her.

"Seaweed brain!" Annabeth called in a sing-song voice. "Where are you? I've been looking for you for ages!" I looked up. Anger coursed through me. I wanted to hurt her. Break her heart how she broke mine. I wanted revenge.

I dried my eyes and looked in the mirror. My hair was messier than usual, and my eyes held a murderous glint. I snatched up a bag and filled with the essentials, like ambrosia, nectar and blue cookies. I grabbed the shield that Tyson gave me and shrank it down into watch form.

"Percy? Percy? You okay? Seaweed brain?" Annabeth called again. I uncapped Riptide. I was seeing red, I had no power over my actions. I was in a blind hurricane of rage.

"Percy?" Annabeth called. I opened the door of my cabin and stepped out. "Percy!" Annabeth cried, running towards me. "I missed you so much!" I snapped. I couldn't take it anymore. I roared with rage, making an inhuman sound. I leaped toward Annabeth, sword in hand.

She screamed. I don't remember what happened next, but the next thing I knew, I was kicking and screaming in Poseidon's grip. "Perseus Jackson!" Zeus roared. I looked up. In front of me was the council of the gods. Poseidon tightened his grip on me. And Annabeth...she was soaked with blood, her arms and legs covered in cuts, her eyes full of pure terror. My doing.

"How could you!" I screamed at her. I was sobbing, but I didn't care. "How could you, Annabeth! I loved you! I fell into Tartarus for you! I going to propose to you! And you go and kiss that... that...I couldn't go on, I was sobbing too hard. The anger was gone, all that was left was pure, raw grief.

"Silence!" Zeus yelled again. "You, Perseus Jackson, are guilty of the attempted murder of Annabeth Chase, and are condemned to life in Tartarus!" I felt numb. Tartarus? No- I couldn't go back there. I started panicking.

The Olympic Council worked together and with a lot of effort, opened a portal. A portal to Tartarus.

Poseidon pushed towards it. I panicked and fought against him, but his grip was too strong. He threw me and my backpack into the portal, and into Tartarus.
