Chapter 55/ confidence and confidence

Scully walked to him.
S: William what happened to your eye.
William had forgotten to put ice on it and did not really care for it. He touched it as if to remember what was happening the day before.
S: William?
William stood up.
William: It's nothing I stumbled.
M: Stumbled? It's better to be something else.
S: William, what happened?
William felt in his voice anger mixed with worry. He understood that he should have a good excuse before she started launching an international survey to find out what's going on.

It was 6:00 pm and Scully was getting ready for supper. Someone knocked on the door. Scully gone open.
S: Debbie?
Debbie: Sorry to come so late but I would like to see William.

William: Hi
Debbie: Hi. I did not want to go and say goodbye. I'm going back to NYK tomorrow morning.
William looked at her and said nothing. Scully and Mulder were spectators, while trying to be discreet.
William: Dana, can I take your car?
S: Yes, of course.
William looked at Debbie: do you want to go with me somewhere?

William did not answer and put on his coat.
William: Do not wait for me for supper I'll come back later.
Scully was about to say something but Mulder withheld it.
The two youngsters took the road. The road was long and the night was falling. They arrived at the cemetery, the grates were closed. William took the flashlight that was in the gang box of the car.
Debbie: William, what are we doing in a graveyard at this hour?
William: Follow me.
They arrived at the coordinate that Mulder had given to William. A tombstone with the name of his registered parents
Debbie: Vander Kamp?
William: Debbie, do you introduce my parents?
Debbie: What are you talking about Will
Will: My name is Jackson Vander Kamp. This is the name that my adoptive parents gave me.
Debbie: William I understand nothing.
William: You wanted to know my story, and here it is. My biological parents that you know Dana and Fox made me adopt at 7 months. I was raised by them for 17 years. And then life wanted me to find Dana and Fox.
Debbie: But why did you get adopted?
William: This is the most complicated part of the story. I still miss answers. But the important thing is that I had adoptive parents who gave me a lot of love and I miss them a lot. William let out a few tears as he said those words.

They were interrupted by a noise. They decided to return to the car.

Debbie accepted the invitation.
Mulder and Scully were in the living room watching a TV show.

He opened the door of his car.
Debbie: Thanks again for your trust and taking care of me the other night. I feel a little ridiculous.
