Florida's World Famous, Lapiz's Ice Cream was as good as new. It was as if the Royce incident had never happened. The shop had reopened not to long ago, renovated and all. It's popularity had boosted not only because of the renovations but the talk of a superhuman battle taking place in front of it can do that for your business, and the ice cream was as good as ever.
Layla sat eating her own special, savoring each spoonful of ice cream as if it were her last. Katelyn smiled as she watched her friend enjoy herself, a rare sight these days. She too was savoring the moment. Ice cream has yet to fail as Layla's antidepressant.
As they left the shop and went into the heat of the blazing Florida sun, Katelyn glanced at her friend who was still smiling happily.
“Hey Layla, I was thinking, the day is still young so why don't we go shopping or to the gym or something?”
“No, I don't think our Dads would take kindly to us being away any longer.”
“Oh they aren’t going to fuss about anything and besides, you're usually the one to suggest testing their patience. C'mon, let's go to the movies. I heard 'Guilty by Design' was a good movie, we-”
“Katelyn...”
She stopped as Layla interrupted her. She still had a smile on her face but it wasn't as strong as it was before.
“It's okay. I'm fine. I promise.”
“...okay.”

Lucy squatted next to Anthony's stationary body and was prodding him with her sheathed sword. His leg twitched signaling
“He still draws breath.”
“Oh good, I almost thought this was the day we killed him.” Jett chuckled, “Still, that is very impressive for a weakling like him to have punched 8000 pounds of iron up the hill.”
Lucy nodded in agreement.
“Pretty decent, for a Do user…that being said, where is Picasso right now?”

Sierra watched intently as Chuck slowly carved the Klenkory branch, which he had carefully had removed from the generous tree. Each delicate stroke of his carving knife took at least fifteen second to complete. It had taken form and now he was just smoothing the edges. It was a cylindrical hilt, about 15cm long and 5cm thick. One end was open and filled to brim with soil. He stroked the hilt with his knife one more time before examining the smooth wood himself.
“Alright, this'll do."
“Excuse me for asking, but Master Chuck....what exactly will this do again? How could this be a weapon?"
