“Uh s-sir? What do w-we do?" One officer stuttered to the other as the four cops crawled along the cracked side walk.
“Keep your voice down! Hope they don't hear us and we get back to the station and hope that everything we saw tonight was a bad dream caused by Lucille's cooking."
They all nodded in agreement, and continued to make their way from the huge battle currently being fought in the middle of the street. Amar'e and Luke were clashing back and forth, Amar'e's Lightning Blade against Luke's Lion Quakes. Each strike caused a violent gush of wind. Amar'e didn't know what it was, but Luke some how was able to connect hits, even if his Sledgehammers didn't meet their target. It was an anomaly and changed the dynamic of the entire battle.
Amar'e had to dodge an attack twice essentially, and he wasn't always successfully since he couldn't see the second attack. His left arm was a little limp from a blow he had taken to the bicep. If he tried to flex it, he'd feel an excruciating pain. For the time being Luke had stopped his assault.
“Your arm isn't looking too good there Amar'e? Something I do?" he cocked his eye brow up.
“Stop this crap! You gonna fight me seriously now or what?!" Amar'e shouted at him.
“Huh, fight seriously? Hahahaha! Oh man, you're currently fighting a losing battle and you want me to turn the heat up even more? You're more stubborn than I thought."
Luke swung his hammers at nothing a few times and seconds after, Amar'e felt multiple hit strike his body. The wind was completely knocked out of him and he stumbled backwards, his sword making a scraping noise as the tip dragged across the ground.
No, no, nooo! Don't fall...if you fall now, you won't be able to get up again. Don't Fall!
He yelled in his mind and he forced himself to stop and regain his balance.
“Good Amar'e, you still got some fight left in ya. But I'm afraid that statement you made earlier about the playing field being even is now null and void. You're hardly standing anymore. I bet you want to know how I do it huh? What's my secret?"
Amar'e's stern face didn't falter as he stubbornly tried to muster enough strength to stand up straight.
“You're about to pass out anyways, so I'll tell you why you became my personal lackey. Ya see, I noticed it when I fought that other dimwit at Mesto Mecha, what was his name again? Antonio or something? Yea him, I noticed that when ever I struck out with my Lion Quakes hard enough, something weird would happen. It was like I hit things without even touching them. I experimented a couple of times and after maybe about the hundredth time of destroying trees that were 10 meters away from me, I came to the conclusion...I'm so strong that now, whenever I swing these babies, it's like I'm striking a ball of air that soars in whatever direction I struck with an increased air pressure. That's what's been hitting you all this time. Don't feel bad though, for what it's worth, you definitely lasted longer than anyone else against it."
“So that's what it was huh?" Amar'e smiled lightly, “Good? I thought I was going crazy."
