Like a child

Getting Shu off her required a lot of effort, Mia sighed as she knocked at Kanato's door again. Who knew Karlheinz's eldest son could be so affectionate?

"What do you want?" Kanato grumpily asked, half-hidden behind the door.

"Hello Kanato." Mia smiled, "I made us some cake, and I was hoping that you had tea to go with it."

Kanato's lavender eyes brightened, and he practically tore open the door. "What is it made of?!"

"Strawberry~" Mia grinned, stepping into the room. Kanato stepped inside and slammed the door close, he teleported in the chair and childishly swung his feet. "Give it to me!"

"Of course, I did make it for you." Mia teleported next to his chair and settled down on a small stool. She took out the cake and cut up a large piece, giving it to Kanato.

He immediately snatched it from her and examined the cake with narrowed eyes. Probably deeming it good enough, Kanato ate a bite and chewed it slowly with close eyes and then-

-proceeded to gobble down the large piece.

Mia simple observed him with a smile, taking in his room with her peripheral vision. Toys and childish chairs scattered his floor, not to mention the soft-toys on the mantel.

That is why I can't do this, little child.

I don't care if you're older than some of the other brothers, you're a child at heart and at mind.

Kanato grinned, his eyes wide and glassy. "I want more!"

"I have more!" Mia smiled.

Kanato smiled, his cheeks flushed.

After eating the amount of cake that'll normally be enough for three people, Kanato looked at her. "Do you want tea?"

"Yes, please."

"You're right, Teddy." Kanato nodded at his teddy. "She's much less irritating than Yui."

After listening to Kanato talk to his stuffed toy for at least 15 more minutes, Mia delicately rested her empty tea cup on the table. "Oh, are you done?" Kanato smiled at her, his eyes wide.

"Then, will you let me drink your blood?"

Mia's smile remained intact but her brow twitched, "You'll not like it, its really bitter." Mia continued when Kanato's expression turned furious. and he bent the spoon in his hand." You can definitely have it later, kana-chan. Just not now, I don't want the cake's sweet taste to change."

"Kana-chan?" Kanato blinked, though his cheeks were slightly tinted pink. "I don't love you, so, don't try." His eyes widened as he laughed at her, "I'll love you if you crawl to my feet and cry-"

He paused as he examined Mia's impassive face, "But you're too boring." He whined.

"I'm not flirting with you Kana-chan." Mia took a risk and patted his head, her face soft. "I consider you as a little brother."

Kanato frowned, "Brother? Why, do you not like me?!"

"I do. That's why I consider you a little brother, and that's why I baked you cake. That's also why I'll give you blood willingly kana-chan."

"Then-" Kanato smiled. "I'm okay as long as you bake me sweets, give me your blood and play with me!"

"Sure Kana-chan!"

Mia's smile slid off as she suddenly sighed deeply.

"Ne, Teddy is asking why you're sad. Do you not like me anymore?"

"I do Kana-chan, that's why I'm sad."

Kanato threw his tea cup at a wall and it shattered, "What do you mean?!"

His reactions are so amusing.

"Its just that now that I like you Kana-chan, I don't understand how she can not like you."

"She?"

"I don't know if I should tell you this but I'm talking about Yui."

"That scared mortal?" Kanato's eyes turned sad. "She told me that she didn't hate me."

Mia shifted closer to Kanato and comforted him by ruffling his hair. "'Didn't hate you', she didn't say she like you either. She said that because she was scared."

It was the truth, after all.

"Really?" Kanato clenched his teeth. "She didn't make me cake either, nor does she offer me her blood."

Such a sad child, Mia sighed.

"I should just make a doll out of her!"

"No kana-chan." Mia soothed him. "You can slowly take your revenge, just don't kill her. Your father said to not kill her and you don't want him to punish you, right?"

"Right. I knew that, silly demon!" Kanato huffed.

After some more conversations and a lot of tantrums, Mia decide to leave.

"Demon." Kanato called out, hugging his teddy close to him.

What's with these brothers and stopping me at doors.

"Yes, kana-chan?"

Kanato hid the lower-half of his face behind his teddy, "If you call me kana-chan, I want to call you Elder sister!"

Mia's red eyes widened, and a soft, real smile stretched at her lips.

"Of course Kana-chan."

The door closed an Kanato grinned at his teddy, his eyes wide. "We have a sister now, Teddy. I'll not let any of my brothers touch my sister."

Shu caged her between his arms, looking down at her with a half-lidded glare.

"What do you need Shu?"

"You bit Reiji." He said, his voice cold.

I can't even walk two steps before being hounded by possessive vampires.

" I did."

Shu teleported into his room, knowing that Mia would follow after.

Mia sighed, "Let's go talk to Mr Sleeping beauty now."

'At least Kanato is under my trap.'

For some reason saying the word trap didn't feel so good anymore.
