Mia sat abruptly, clutching the cloth clinging to her chest due to sweat and tried to breath by taking in long gasps. Yuma seemed to be the only one with enough courage to hold her while the others just buzzed around the bed in concern. Mia could hear Azusa whisper something but she was too occupied making sure she engraved all these memories into her mind.

Wiping a trail of blood from her nose, Mia looked up into the suddenly blank faces of the four half-vampires.

Ruki with his sad-sad eyes spoke such clipped words; asking of her wellbeing, (Mia wanted to shake him until his voice conveyed his sadness), but then Kou interrupted.

Ever the reckless Kou asked what everyone was thinking, "Well? Do you pity us or you want something to keep quiet?" The other three males' gaze turned to Kou, but no one objected to what had been said.

Then to everyone's astonishment, Mia burst into tears.

All the four males froze and Yuma who was patting her back pulled away awkwardly. The demon hid her face behind her hands, rolling into herself and sobbing soundlessly. It was a silence filled with the deafening hesitation of the vampires.

Azusa turned to be the one to wrap his arms around the demon, nuzzling his face in her hair, he muttered, "Don't cry, surprisingly I don't like you in pain." The words—no matter how odd they were—seemed to calm down Mia, who wiped her wet face slowly.

When Mia finally seemed like she would not start crying out of nowhere, Kou opened his mouth to speak, but a scathing glare from Ruki had him pausing.

'You'll make her cry again', his grey eyes seemed to convey through the glower. Kou shut his mouth and sulked.

"Are you hurting, is that why you cried? Are you going to bleed more? What can we do?" Ruki asked.

Mia took a shaky breath and replied in a hoarse voice, "No, it's just...seeing your memories and seeing you now just hit me."

"We don't want your pity," Yuma muttered.

Mia seemed surprised for a moment before it turned to frustration, "Do you always mistake anger for pity?"

Yuma's jaw locked and he kept quiet. Mia continued, looking at Ruki this time, "I do not pity any of you. I'm livid you had to go through this, but I don't think any less of you." Ruki nodded, "Thank you, but forget these memories. I think we'd be much more comfortable with that." Mia promised to try and the tension seemed to break.

"Do you think I was cute as a child?"

Mia could not stop the chuckle escaping her mouth at Azusa's words, "Yes, you all were." Azusa smiled. Kou finally could not seem to hold himself from speaking, "What about Yuma?"

Yuma stiffened.

"What about Yuma?" Mia asked.

Ruki explained that Yuma had lost the early part of his memories. Mia sighed, "I saw it all, and you had very loving parents."

Yuma looked at her with wide brown eyes and Mia could not hold information from that desperate expression. "You were a happy child, very wild. Your name was Edgar. Your parents...they died in a village fire. You ran after them and the next thing I saw was you on the streets."

A tear slipped down Yuma's face, "I had parents."

"Yes."

"I see," Yuma cleared his throat, "Thanks, I guess." Kou rested a hand on Yuma's shoulder and Ruki came to stand beside him. "You have us too, Yuma," Azusa said. Yuma's tense posture loosened, "Yeah, I bet I have you idiots."

Ruki lightly slapped the back of Yuma's head, "Who are you calling an idiot?"

Yuma laughed. Kou held Yuma's head and rubbed his brown locks roughly, "Are you laughing at our love, you oaf?"

Yuma winced and reached up to pull Kou's ear, Kou let out a small gasp, "Not the face, not the face. I actually have to maintain my looks."

"What looks?" Ruki huffed. Azusa and Yuma laughed as Kou's face fell. Kou pouted at the former-aristocrat and Ruki cracked a small smile.

Mia certainly did not want to disturb such a happy moment, but her need was urgent. So with a heavy heart she spoke, "Yuma, there was a blonde boy in your memories. Do you know him somehow?"

Yuma frowned, "I just said I don't remember."

"Ruki, can you promise me to not report this to Karlheinz."

"What is it first?"

"Please Ruki," Mia bowed her head.

Ruki hesitated, before his grey eyes seemed to shine, "I can try. What is it?"

"I need a witch to retrieve my memories."
