Tensions rise

Before Mia realized it was time for school again, actually, it was less realizing and more being informed by a grumpy vampire instead.

Reiji looked at Shu with narrowed eyes, Mia was almost afraid that the hatred in that glare could burn Shu up into flames.

"Do we... have to go... today." Shu mumbled, his lips brushing against Mia's collarbone as he spoke. Somewhere during the comforting, Shu had pulled her into his arms and fallen asleep. Mia had already been hugging him, so, they very much looked like they were cuddling.

"Some people actually need to study, dead beat, and I have to discuss something with Mia." Reiji pushed up his glasses with his forefinger, still glaring at the couple.

Mia yawned and sat up, "You stay home today, you deserve it after all this." She said to Shu and then stood up from the bed, "What about you?" Shu groaned.

Mia patted his cheek, "I have stuff to do."

And people to trick. 

"Sorry to keep you waiting Reiji, let me change."

Reiji refrained himself from reprimanding Shu to come to school, if he didn't want to come then he'll just have Mia all the more to himself.

"By the way," Mia nudged his shoulder as she walked by him, "You called my name, Re-ji." She grinned at him and teleported back to her room.

Reiji himself turned to go, his lips twitching in a smile, but Shu's chuckle stopped him short. "What is it good-for-nothing?" He hissed.

"Heh." Shu rolled over his bed and opened an eye, "I never imagined you to be one to fall for a prospective-bride, Reiji."

Reiji's jaw hardened, "I could say the same to you."

Shu closed his eye and yawned, "Yes, I like her."

Reiji clenched his fists but kept his expression blank, "I'll not be losing to someone like you, you good for nothing."

Reiji teleported away but not before catching Shu's comment, "So, you agree about your feelings."

That damn dead-beat.

Mia straightened her shirt and picked up her bag full of heavy books, "The things you have to do for your owner." Mia sighed, cursing Dante in her mind.

"Oi, are you done?!" Ayato shouted from outside the door.

"Ayato," Mia let out a gasp. 

'I cannot talk to him after breaching his past like that.' 

In a panic, Mia teleported to the limo where the brothers, except Ayato and Yui were already waiting. Shu wasn't present either, having taken an off today.

"Ah, my queen~ It's been too long since we've had some quality time." Laito purred.

"Tch, pervert." Subaru growled.

Laito simply winked at Mia and slung an arm around Subaru's shoulder. "But Suba-kun, how can you talk to such an exquisite girl and not be a pervert." He nudged Subaru's face towards Mia.

Mia simply chuckled, "You're acting like a pervert Laito, do you not remember our previous conversation."

"Of course, I do~" Laito grinned, straightening up as Subaru shrugged him off, "But will you be able to handle my true self?"

"I can handle anything you throw at me, Laito~" Mia drawled, eyes glittering with mirth as Laito's cheeks flushed and he smirked.

Subaru wasn't listening to the conversation, no, he was staring at deep red eyes so like his own, but much more lovely.
