In the end Mia didn't go with Reiji to the cafeteria; the excuse she gave was that she didn't want to deal with the annoying human fan-girls. Reiji let her go, but he certainly didn't look pleased.

Mia breathed in the fresh air; the terrace was definitely one of her favorite places in this school now. Demons were creatures of the night and Mia did in fact feel at peace in the darkness.

"What are you doing here?!"

'Ah, there comes the reason I actually came here.'

Mia turned to face Ayato, a devious smile on her face.

'I knew you would've come.'

"Are all vampires' stalkers, or are you special?"

"Shut up. Yours truly demands to know why you didn't come to meet him." Ayato snapped, walking over to the bench that Mia sat on and sitting beside her. He glared at the amused women next to him. Her red eyes glinted in the dim light and Ayato could feel a slight shudder down his spine, 'So enticing.'

"I didn't want to bother with the humans." Mia grinned. "Why, did you miss me?"

"Yours truly doesn't miss anybody, people miss him!" Ayato huffed.

Mia brushed away non-existent dust from her skirt and patted her thighs, "Come lie down. You look annoyed."

Ayato's eyes slightly widened, before he hesitantly lowered his head in her lap, almost as if he hadn't received affection ever in his life.

'Trapped'

Mia hummed as she ran her slender fingers through his hair, marveling at the color. "You're a lot bolder than our other brides." Ayato started the conversation.

"Please. Don't compare me with those scared mortals."

Ayato hummed in answer, closing his eyes. "You don't have a scent." He commented after a few minutes.

"Demons don't." Mia answered as she twirled a silky strand between her fingers.

'Although Demons tend to look great, vampires are certainly quite attractive as well.' Mia mused.

"What exactly can you do as a demon?"

Mia didn't even think before answering with the truth, "I can teleport; I've got great strength and speed. I can sense the purity of a soul." Mia paused and checked if she had missed anything. "I can also see into memories in some conditions."

"That's a lot like vampires, except a few things." Ayato murmured.

"Do you not like your father?" Mia asked slowly.

"...No." Ayato frowned. "He hasn't done anything good for us since we were kids."

'Karlheinz even with your children you're so cruel.' Mia thought, feeling something akin to pity.

'Wait.' Mia's eyes widened. 'Did I just let my guard down for the past ten minutes? This is bad.'

A slight breeze blew Mia's hair off her shoulders, exposing her neck. Before she could sense what had happened, Ayato was on top of her, holding her wrists.

"What a lovely position." Mia said, trying to loosen Ayato's grip.

Ayato smirked, his green eyes glowing as he leaned down. Mia tried to move but only managed to slightly overthrow Ayato off-balance.

'Damn that vampire strength! The only creatures' demons are weaker than are vampires and angels, and these brats had to be strong pure-blood vampires!'

Mia managed to knee him in the stomach and Ayato groaned from the pain but didn't budge.

"Even though you're faster, yours truly is stronger in strength little-flirt." Ayato leaned down and whispered against her neck, "You're mine. I'll claim you soon, Mia"

And with that he plunged his fangs in her neck.

Mia let out a sound; a mixture between a choked moan and a gasp.

'The only creatures that found a vampire's bite painful were humans, for the rest, like demons it was actually pleasurable.'

Ayato groaned as the rich taste filled his mouth; it was bitter in a good way and so hot. He had never tasted blood like this before.

Mia somehow managed to hiss, "You idiot, stop! Demon blood is addictive!"

Ayato removed his fangs and grinned down at her, Mia sensed her eyes darken at his devious face as he drawled, "Then yours truly will just have to keep you with him forever."

He bit her again, this time closer to her collarbone and Mia could sense Ayato's past trickling in her mind, getting stored so she could see it later. These were the conditions under which she could see memories of people.

Ayato stopped, placing a feathery kiss on her collarbone, "Your blood is of excellent quality."

He leaned down again and oh how Mia wished to sink her sharp canines in his flesh as well, but she was on a mission, she couldn't afford feelings or distractions. So-

-she head butted him.

This time, Ayato winced at the pain and let go of Mia's wrist to hold his head. That was all Mia needed and in a moment she had him pinned down. Ayato blinked in confusion but soon caught up and frowned. Before he could overpower her, Mia laid a soft kiss on his forehead and disappeared. The only sign of her leaving was the door to the terrace swinging.

'She really is fast.' Ayato blinked, surprised.

He then touched his forehead and smiled softly, choosing to ignore his bruised wrists, he whispered, "Idiotic girl, you cannot hide."

How did you like the chapter? I hope I didn't make Mia appear too weak, but she has to be realistic as well, you know. I'm going to make her let her guard down a bit slowly. Who do you want the next chapter to be about?

Please comment and tell me how you felt about the story. Thanks for reading!
