"Billie honey, I know you're there. Open your eyes for me baby."
ouch. nope. hurts too much.
Billie clenched his eyes back shut after trying to open his eyes. The brightness from the LED lights in this room was too much. He exhaled sharply out of his nose in pain.
Ollie sat back and frowned. It hurt her to see her son like this. She had no idea where to start. How do you pretend everything is fine when you're looking at your son who almost died by his own hands? What do you say?
Ollie blinked back tears. Instead of speaking, she just lied down on Billie's chest and sobbed. The mix of relief and confusion was weighing he down.
A burning pain shot through Billie's ribcage. His muscles clenched and he sat up really fast, causing Ollie to look up, startled. Groaning, Billie turned over, but his IV tugged on his arm, giving him more pain. A tear rolled down his cheek. He blearily opened his emerald eyes and looked at his mother and started to bawl.
"I'm sorry mama. I'm sorry."
