Hannah's POV

I ran up to my Great Aunt Barbara's porch, dropped my hood and knocked the door, before opening it and letting myself in.

"Aunt Barbara! It's me! It's Hannah!!!" I yelled out, dropping my backpack and carrier bag and peered through the doors to try and find her.

My dad has been begging me since Easter to come spend a summer with my Great Aunt. Dad said that she has been more... senile... this weather.

I found her in what looked like a large reception room, sitting in the rocking chair, listening to a wireless radio.

"Hey Aunt Barbara!" I called out and she turned around, a massive smile, spreading into her face.

"Hannah! My darling!" She said, getting up off the chair, with a walking stick and hobbled over to me. She embraced me warmly, giving me a sloppy kiss on my cheek.

"How are you, darling?" She asked, linking our arms and hobbling with me into the kitchen. I watched her start to fill an old, metal, small kettle and place it onto the hob.

She took bread out of the fridge and also some chicken strips. She cut some smaller strips off the chicken, buttered the bread, placed the chicken onto the bread and handed it to me. I smiled, thanking her, biting into the homemade sandwich.

"Aunt Barbara, could I go upstairs and start to unpack some of my clothes?" I asked and for a second of so, she hesitated. But then she smiled and nodded.

"Sure, sweetie, it's the second room on the left." She said and I nodded. I walked back into the hallway, lifting up my bags and walked up the stairs.

God, but this place was dusty.

I coughed a little as I opened the door to my room. It was quite big, had a nice double bed in the middle of the room and two massive windows on one side of the room. I threw my bags down on my bed, and opened the large wardrobe that was in the room.

I walked over to the light switch in the room and flicked the light on, the light casting a dim glow over the old room. I sighed, humming a song to myself and I lay down on the bed. I have to admit, it was very comfy.

I closed my eyes for a few seconds and I listened to my Great Aunt busying herself down in the kitchen and smiled a little bit.

Maybe it won't be too bad staying here for the summer...

My eyes shot open when I thought I felt someone breathing right beside my ear. I rubbed over the spot where I felt it and I looked up at my light, which had started to flicker.

"What the hell?" I whispered, looking up at it.

"Stupid electrics," I sighed, walking back over, turning off the light switch, and quickly switching it back on again. The light stopped flickering and I quickly hung up all my clothes.

I was finishing off hanging up my clothes when I tensed up. I had a feeling someone was watching me.

My skin broke out in goose flesh and there was a sudden chill in the room. I shivered closing my wardrobe door, but still felt the feeling that I was being watched. I turned round slowly and cautiously, and, of course, no one was there.

I shook my head at how stupid I was, I tied my blonde hair up quickly into a simple ponytail and decided to have a look round the house, while I was up here. I sneezed at the amount of dust that was scattered among the hallway and I reminded myself that I would need to clean this place up a bit, if I was to stay here all summer.

I tried to open one door, but it was locked. I frowned, and kept on trying doors. The first one I tried opened and I coughed at how much dust was in this room. It looked like this room was mainly used for storage, as there was lots of boxes scattered around the room. I reached down for the one in front of me, and I opened it.

It was full of old children's toys.

My eyebrows furrowed together in confusion and I lifted out a small music box. I twisted the key and it started to play a small, slightly out of tune song.

That's when I felt the breath on my ear again. I spun around but no one was there.

Quickly, I shut the music box, placing it back were I found it and walked back down the stairs to my Great Aunt.

Sitting down on a chair beside the kitchen table and my Great Aunt placed a cup of tea in front of me.

"Just to let you know, darling, my carer, Sandra is coming round to take me out for a few hours, you could come along for a while if you want, you could come along?" She asked but I shook my head. It seemed like the only time she got out of the house and I didn't want me to be there, she needed her time alone.

"No, I'll be fine here," I said and she nodded.

"Well I'll see you later then," she said and I heard a pump of a horn and I knew it would be the carer. I smiled as she shuffled past me and I heard the door shut.

I sat back in the uncomfortable chair, rubbing my hands over my face.

The lights then started to flicker again.

"Jesus," I said, standing up again and looking at the light. Sighing, I turned the lights off and went back upstairs to my bedroom.

I lay down on my bed, flicking through my phone and putting my music on.

Soon, I found myself drifting off to sleep.
