Chapter 17: On the Road

*Beth's POV

We've all unfortunately, accepted the fate of Rick, Carl and Liz. Oh, and T-Dog too. They probably aren't alive, there is however a chance they're alive, I believe they are as well as my dad and Daryl but everyone else doesn't.

"Car up ahead!" Daryl shouted. My dad and I went to the truck. My dad's a little too old when it comes to certain things, like he shoot off walkers but people are a different story. I on the other hand, just aren't the shooting/killing type of girl. When it comes down to it, I can if needed but I don't like it. I always have my gun on me though.

*Daryl's POV*

"Wait!" I called to the group. I couldn't believe what I saw in the van. Rick, Carl and Liz. "It-t's them! Rick Carl and Liz!" I told them, and they all immediately dropped their weapons, as well as Beth and Hershel came out of the truck.

They came out and Rick went over to Lori as well as Carl but right when Liz came out I hugged her. It's a little not Daryl but I care a lot about Liz.

*Liz's POV*

I was a little shocked when Daryl came and hugged me, but I immediately hugged back. After I let go, Beth and Maggie came and hugged me at the same time.

"Sisters think a like I guess?" Since they both hugged me at the same time. They smiled and then released me.

Later on, we all sat around the fire, "What's the plan?" Glenn asked breaking the silence. "We go and find houses go house to house until we find one that is secure and good" Rick asked him starring into the burning fire.

"But Rick, it's winter we'll freeze our asses off" Glenn replied back. "It's November right now, we have a few weeks before it gets very cold, we'll find a house or something hopefully by then but it's Winter so I assume the snow will slow the walkers down so I don't think we have to worry about them too much" I spoke up, and all eyes went on me.

"How do you know what month it is? Do you keep count?" Maggie asked me. "No, I brought my phone, I can't call or text but I can still play games and keep track of the date and time" I told her, and everyone else. "Smart" Carol observed. I nodded pulling my phone out of my pocket, and checking the time. 10:43

The next day came, and I unzipped the tent I was sharing with Carl and Beth careful not to wake Carl.

I heard a mumble coming from behind me, and I saw Carl's blue eyes flutter open and his mouth smiled at me.

"Morning" He grumbled in his morning voice, making me melt a little.

"Morning" I replied back to him unzipping the tent more, when he grabbed my hand. "Wait" He told me. I looked behind him questioningly.

"Um, uh.. d-do you want your jacket its cold" He sputtered out nervously. "Oh uh, thanks" I slipped my white leather jacket over my black cami with my ripped light washed jeans and black combat boots. And I walked out the door.

*Carl's POV*

I mentally slapped myself for acting like such an idiot. I liked her, but why couldn't I tell her? I quickly changed and went outside the tent to see Glenn walking around aimlessly.

"Glenn!" I went over to him and he turned around towards me. "Yeah what's up? Did you tell her?" He smiled at me. I sighed and shook my head.

"I couldn't do it, I chickened out again" I told him. "Listen, you just need to do it no matter how nervous you are. I was really nervous when I told Maggie I liked her but it was different" He smiled looking back at the memory.

*Flashback* (In Glenn's POV)

Maggie and I just got into the store when she grabbed my hand. "Glenn, I..I-I" She stopped and just kissed me. I was shocked at first, but then snaked my arms around her waist, and she put her's around my neck. She pulled back and said "Glenn, I like you and meet me back her in an hour and we can leave" She told me grabbing a shopping cart and walking in the opposite direction.

I kept trying to talk to her but she ignored me. What the hell? First you kiss me and say you like me, then you ignore me and act all pissed?

We met up after and she turned to face me."What were you trying to say?" Her beautiful eyes looked into mine. "I like you too" I thought to myself, just say it! "I-i-i uh, got a lot of stuff" I wearily chuckled. Her eyes grew disappointed. Did she want me to say I liked her too? "I like you!" I yelled to her as she walked away.

She came up to me. "That's all I wanted to hear" She smiled and kissed my cheek lightly, walking out of the store.

*End of Flashback* (Carl's POV again)

I listened to the story. "That's easy though! You already knew she liked you back, I don't! I complained. He just chuckled. "Is this all too obvious for everyone but you two? It's way too obvious that you guys like each other, trust me just do it" He encouraged me. I sighed and nodded.

"Good boy" He joked as I walked away.

I went over to Liz who was sharpening her knife, alone. Perfect.

"Liz?" I said. She looked up, telling me to continue.

"I like you" I told her, and pressed my lips to hers.
