Saint Josiah
The next day, I was on my way out with the guys to catch up while eating. I was stuck on baby duty, so the little ones had to tag along while Chasity and Ambrosine handled some more business for the building they were inquiring about. Sabre tagged along also for "girl time."
Nav and I were meeting Jah at a restaurant located on Madison Avenue. It was called Blank Slate Coffee + Kitchen. The scenery was modern and not as high class as we would want, especially with the girls tagging along. They can cause chaos sometimes, so I was hoping for a smooth outing. Plus, this place had highchairs for the girls to eat at, so I was already sold. It wasn't too far, so we got there in about 25 minutes driving.
We entered the restaurant, and it had a few people seated and eating while others were deep into conversation. Nav held Logan while I carried Nova, heavy as hell. Jah was already seated, and to my surprise, he had a lady friend with him. I guess this was the Nova character he failed to inform the guys about. But hey, as long as both him and Chasity end up happy, it's all good.
" Wassgud ," Jah said, standing up and dapping me and Nav up.
" Shit, how you?" Nav spoke up.
" Everything cool," I added.
" Y'all niggas look like fathers of the year and shit," Jah joked.
" I wish y'all stopped cursing around these two. They like sponges," I sighed, remembering what Audi said.
" Aye man, I got you. Look at my Godchildren," Jah spoke up, playing with both of their hands.
" Hate to break it to you, but Ambrosine might dub that for number 3..." I admitted. She wasn't feeling him after he brought up her having several children and told her to go feed them. Quite frankly, I wasn't a fan of the remark either, but Ambrosine saying she didn't want him as a godfather anymore was a little overboard. We definitely needed to discuss that.
" What you mean? Why?" Jah asked.
" Story for another time."
" Aight, say less. This my girl Lucki" he finally introduced her.
" Hello, Ms. Lucki," Nav joked, grabbing her hand, and Jah slapped it.
" This ain't Sabre, nigga," Jah joked.
" Hey, how you doing?" I spoke up.
" Hello to the both of you," Lucki smiled.
" Well, let's eat," I said once Nova began to get cranky.
We all ordered and began to chat as we waited on our food.
" So, Ms. Lucki, what do you do for a living? It's only right Saint and I interrogate you."
" Nigga..." Jah grilled him.
" Oh babe, it's fine. I'm a bartender."
" Oh word? That's wassup. What made you do that?"
" I guess I just grew to love it because of my dad. He owned a liquor distributor company, and I always helped him drop off cases as a teen. It was pretty cool in my opinion to go into bars underage, even though it was morning and empty," she laughed.
" Word, that's wassup. At least you're not doing it for the trend, you know?"
" Absolutely! I hate that it's a trend. Most of these chicks can't make a decent drink; they just have fat asses and snatched waists."
" Shit, from the look of it, you do too," Nav laughed, causing me to laugh.
" Oh gosh," she blushed and hid into Jah's shoulder.
