Foxstar breathed in deeply. He didn't want to send away his mate, even if he was forced into the relationship, but she was voted guilty, 6;4.
"Cats of BrightClan! Leopardmist's votes have been counted." The crowd seemed like it was one cat, taking in a huge breath and holding it. "She was voted guilty by majority." He let out.
"No!" Leopardmist screeched. "There is no way I would kill a cat! You all have bees in your tiny brains if you think I killed Jaggedwind. I am innocent, I tell you! Innocent!"
"Sootbreeze and Whitetail. Please escort this cat to the edge of the territory and see her off." Foxstar mewed, keeping his voice steady. The two cats nodded, and pressed themselves against Leopardmist so she could not escape. Foxstar watched while they went through the bushes and out of the territory.
"It's Brownnose all over again." Foxstar heard a familiar voice whisper, ruffling his ear fur. "Indeed, Angeltail." His mother brushed her tail along his spine and pressed herself against him. "Don't worry. We will catch the culprit." Angeltail rasped. Foxstar nodded. I know we will.
Leopardmist was voted guilty. But she truly was innocent. Watch out.
