Whitestar had left the den with her deputy left to ponder the decision. She knew that since Graytail had died, and Flowerpaw and Patchpaw were more than ready to become warriors, she decided that today was a good bet.
"Cats of BrightClan." She yowled from the highrock. "Today we will welcome a new warrior and medicine cat into this clan." She saw Patchpaw and Flowerpaw's jaws drop open, and the siblings stared at each other in excitement.
"Patchpaw will go first. I, Whitestar, leader of BrightClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He has worked hard to understand the ways of your code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Patchpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect your clan, even at the cost of your life?" She recited the words she had memorized.
"Y-Yes! I mean, I do." Patchpaw mumbled, but finished strong.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Patchpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Patchfall. StarClan honors your kindness, intelligence and skill, and we welcome you as a full warrior of BrightClan." Whitestar finished.
"Patchfall! Patchfall!" The clan cheered. Patchfall looked dumbfounded but happy. He smiled at his sister, and she smiled back. Now for Flowerpaw.
"Because of Graytail's absence, I will perform this ceremony for him. I, Whitestar, leader of BrightClan, call upon my warrior ancestors and Graytail to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve her clan for many moons." Grief clouded every cat's eyes at the mention of Graytail.
"Flowerpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from battles within the clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do." There was shocking courage in the shy she-cat's eyes.
"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Flowerpaw, from this moment you will be known as Flowerberry. StarClan honors your kindness and honesty, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat as BrightClan."
"Flowerberry! Flowerberry!" The clan cheered. Patchfall and Flowerberry welcomed the cheers, and Whitestar knew she had made the right decision. But a yowl stopped the celebration.
"Whitestar!" It was Silverheart. "I know who did it!"
"Who, then?" Whitestar asked.
"It was..."
I had to stop and leave it there XD Still waiting for the accusation. The kits will be apprenticed soon. :3
