The killer slowly but surely found the next victim. He was very gullible and too kind. The killer slow out of their den and found him on guard. "Sootbreeze." They greeted. The only response they got was a flick of the ear. "Seen anything suspicious?" They questioned.
"Nothing to report. Wait a second.. why are you out here, anyways?" Sootbreeze questioned, his smooth voice wavering a little.
"Making sure you were okay." They responded.
"Well, good night-" Sootbreeze mewed, but was cut off by the killer swinging his claws across the neck. He fell, shaking.
"Why?! You were a good cat. At least, I thought you were..." Sootbreeze's eyes turned white, and his chest rose and fell the last time. Gullible. The killer thought, a pang of guilt stabbing at their heart. Too gullible.

"No!!" Foxstar was jolted awake by the sound of a yowl, filled with grief. Whitetail! He thought, sprinting out of the den.
What he saw shook him. Sootbreeze was lying across the floor, bleeding out from the neck. His daughters and Tigerspot were surrounding him, Whitetail with her muzzle buried in his fur.
"He was my mate... I loved him..." She whispered. Foxstar rested his tail on her spine comfortingly. He looked around at BrightClan. Blossomspring was with Zebranose, both hiding the kits from the sight, while Angeltail was just sitting in a patch of grass, shaking her head. Foxstar leaped away from Sootbreeze and onto the highrock.
"Cats of BrightClan! There has been another murder." He yowled. He heard the kits start squeaking. "We want to see!" Silverkit squealed, while her brother was squeaking "Who was it?" Foxstar looked at Zebranose, who was shooting apologetic glances to him.
"Sootbreeze." Foxstar responded. He motioned for silence among the crowd. "My deputy and I will discuss it, for Leopardmist was... obviously not the culprit." And with that, Whitetail got up from Sootbreeze and slowly padded into the den. StarClan help us... please...
