{(Julie’s point of view)}
I don’t know what force was over me but suddenly when I was with Noah, kissing him, touching him, I couldn’t control myself. I was almost in a trance, but I liked it. Once I had finally kissed him it was like all the built up feelings I felt for Noah since the day we met, from anger to lust, just all broke through to the surface, like water in a dam. All the time we spent together, every little conversation, and every memory of him from my past just made me want him more. Its like I had finally seen him as something more than just Noah, I had seen him as the guy that loved me from the start. We discarded our bags onto the couch. As we were maneuvering through the house, I ran into the kitchen table roughly.
“Oh god Jules, you ok?” Noah said trying to see where I was banged into the table.
“I’m fine!” I said somewhat out of breath. I almost laughed at Noah’s urgency to see if I was ok. I got down from his arms slowly and carefully to see if there was a bruise. That’s when I noticed a note on the table. I turned and curiously picked up the note. Noah draped his arms around my waist and set his chin on my shoulder. He read along with me, the note from my parents read:
Dear eldest offspring,
(Yup defiantly Pat)
Your mother and I have taken the weekend together with some friends and will not be back until next Tuesday. Emma will be at her grandmother’s house this weekend. She will not be back until Monday after you get out of school. Please make sure she gets home ok. We wouldn’t want the local gangsters to recruit her in their gang. AND PLEASE BE SURE TO FEED HER REAL FOOD! Your grandmother’s cooking is revolting, but you didn’t hear it from me. Anyways, feel free to the car if you need it. No parties. No boys after 8:00pm. No pets. No weed. No cigars. No tuna.
Love, the CaregiversJ
Noah read it at the funny parts.
“Local Gangsters? Really? Oh geez, according to this organized and legal document, I am not supposed to be here. I better go huh?”
“What? No! Stay.”
I whined reaching for him as he turned away and headed for the door.
“I can’t, it says no boys!” He said giving me a smile.
Ugh, even when my parents weren't here he respected their rules. He slowly walked back over to me, still holding the note, and kissed me on the forehead, handing it back to me. I hugged him. I wanted to feel him hold me and for me to almost be trapped in warmth. He looked down at me and brushed a stray piece of hair from my face. I never realized how much taller he was than me. He spoke each word in between kissing me on the forehead, right cheek, left cheek, nose and finally lips. “I’ll…Come…Back...Tomorrow…Morning.”
I held onto the last kiss as long as I could before he let go.
“I’ll come over for breakfast. Promise.”
He said holding out his pinky.
I intertwined my pinky with his. I walked him out of my house and to the middle of the street, where his bag was still laying. I handed it to him as he smiled and pulled me into a bear hug. He came up close to my ear and whispered.
“Maybe tomorrow, we can pick up where we left off Jules.” He whispered kissing my neck gingerly, but I playfully pushed him away.
“Don’t push your luck Roberts!” I said as he walked back to his house. He turned around and blew me a kiss. I caught it and started along to my house. I couldn’t help smile to myself as I thought:
Hmm…I like that name. Roberts. Noah Roberts. Julie Thorton. Noah Roberts loves Julie Thorton. Julie Roberts. Mrs. Noah Roberts. Good lord, I am so cliché. But, I really think it’s amazing how everything worked out perfectly. I think for once I might have done something right. I can’t see how things could get any better than this!
