---Noah's Point of view---
I knew where this was leading so I tried to back away slowly, only I tripped on a Christmas light cord and ended up falling right on top of the bush. On the other side was Jess and Markus making out. She gasped when she saw me and started covering herself. Markus looked at me and immediately smiled, “WASSUP MY VANILLA NIGGA!!! You enjoy yo-self in there? They got any chips left?”
Markus said smoothly trying to fist bump me.
“Markus! Um, a little help here?” Jess said, desperately trying to re-button the back of her dress.
“Oh shit! Baby I got you, c’mere, lemme just get dis for you babe.”
I quickly looked away and tried to get up and go back into the house to find Julie.
“OH HEY! BRING ME BACK SOME PIZZA ROLLS IF THEY HAVE ANY LEFT!” Markus yelled back at me. I nervously just waved my hand at him and walked back into the web of people to find Jules. On the way in, I accidently bumped into some guy with a lip piercing, knocking us both over.
“Oh hey man! I’m sorry, you ok?”
“Yeah, yeah I’m good, no harm done...Stretch.” He said looking up at me, lifting himself up.
“Sorry man…I really didn’t see you there!”
I managed to squeeze through the clots of people to find Julie by herself, eating a cupcake like a little kid at a birthday party.
“Hey, did you find her?”
“Um yeah! I did.”
She sighed and got up from her chair and brushed crumbs off.
“Well… she’s gonna hate me, but let's do this.”
“Ohhhhh…I think she’ll be ok. She will find someone else, I’m sure.”
-(Julie's point of view)-
So it turned out better than expected. She was very calm the whole time and didn’t cry at all. She wasn’t even mad that I didn’t tell her, because it turns out her and Markus had been going out for weeks. They got together a few days after the whole "blackout" inccident at Noah's football practice. She had been over Noah and she was in fact happy for us. I couldn’t believe that Jess was happy for us. When she told us she was ok with it, I asked if she really meant it. She said, “Well if you don’t want Noah, Greg would love to play with him.”
For the rest of the party, we all danced and kissed and sang the night away. I had to admit her and Markus were in fact too cute. For example, when Jess would speak, Markus would always look at her with longing, he would stare at her mouth and her eyes. It was so sweet to watch them together.
“It’s weird the whole time Markus was pestering me, he was really flirting. He was just really bad at it.”
“Now hold on just a minute!” He laughed trying to make a comeback.
They giggled and kissed each other gently as Greg and Kasey “awed” in unison. We were the only ones left after the party. Kasey and Greg left thirty minutes later and Markus drove Jess home. Noah and I just sat in the silence of the house and just relaxed. All the lights were out, except the Christmas lights and candles lit around the loft. I took off my heels and began cleaning up. Noah got all the bottles and cups and food trays left out. I started sweeping the fallen streamers and trash out of the house. It was almost three in the morning, when I put the dishes away in the dishwasher, he turned up some music. I loved the song…It was Dream a little Dream of Me.
