{(Julie’s point of view)}

I was so deep in worry and thought; that a whole hour had passed before I noticed Noah was there shaking my shoulders. He tried getting my attention and saying my name over and over. I was back and I was startled to say the least. I guess I had just zoned out. I couldn’t even hear Noah over the loud ringing in my ears. It was like I was underwater and I was resurfacing. Hearing everything slurred and mushed together.

“Julie?... Baby?... Jules are you ok?”

“Yeah, yeah I think so, how… how long have we been here?” I asked looking down at the field. I realized the field was empty and the sun was nearly down. The wind was rapidly getting colder against my skin and all of a sudden I felt a stabbing pain everywhere. My skin was numb and I felt the coldness overcome me. I stood up and almost tumbled forward down the bleachers until Noah caught me and helped me back up.

 From then until we got in the car, I can’t really remember what exactly happened. It all occurred in flashes. The first one, I was wavering down the bleachers and Noah was trying to get me down safely and I guess gave up and started carrying me. The second one, I saw the sky. It was a low orange mixed with light red and big fluffy clouds rolling on by. I saw my breath as well. I could hear Noah’s heart pounding and his mild breathing.

“You’re gonna be ok Jules, ok? After we get you home, I’m gonna make you some soup, I’ll make sure you get in a warm bed, and we’ll watch some great movies I know of one that you’ll love it’s called…”

The third one was me getting into Noah’s car and him sitting me down and buckling my seatbelt. In the final one, I was coming into my house with Noah’s help. He carried me up the stairs and it was very dark. I could barely recognize it, but it all started to get very dizzy. That was all.

-(Noah’s point of view)-

After football practice was over I made my way up to Julie’s spot up at the top of the bleachers. God I was so tired, I could barely get all the way up. When I got to her, she was so pale. She wasn’t even wearing a jacket in the 30 degree weather. Her eyes were completely zoned out and wide. I just stayed there waiting for her to hear or see me. I kept saying her name over and over but she just stayed sitting there in the freezing air. She was really starting to worry me. I started to panic and I shook her shoulders and called her name. Finally after about ten minutes, she came back to me.

“Julie?... Baby?... Jules are you ok?” I asked anxiously.

“Yeah, yeah I think so, how… how long have we been here?”

I was relieved a little and kept talking to her and asking her to stay with me. That’s what they do in the doctor shows. I thought she was ok to move on her own, but when she stood up she nearly fell down the bleachers. I quickly caught her in my arms and I knew I would have to carry her the whole way. Adrenaline was running through my veins as I sprinted her to my car and buckled her up. I drove as fast as I could and nearly got pulled over twice on the way.

When I got to her house, I used the key under the mat to get in. Her parents must not have been home because their car wasn’t in the driveway. When I got inside I got her bags and set them down at the foot of the stairs and carried her up. Once I tucked her into bed, she snuggled up against my arm and held me there; stuck under her small weak grasp. I couldn’t bring myself to leave her side. It was only until she fell asleep, that I got to work.
