I pulled into the parking lot and shut off the engine to my 2011 BMW 750. Lifting the console, I pulled out a travel size of Chanel No.9 perfume and sprayed behind both of my ears, under my jawline, and my each of my wrist. Placing the perfume back in the compartment, I grabbed my clutch from the charcoal black leather passenger seat and opened the car door, the pointed heel of my nude, Nine West pumps clashing against the cracked pavement. Locking the doors, I placed my keys inside of my clutch as I strolled through the cigarette smoke and a few catcalls.

Stepping inside of the lounge, my eyes roamed around the vicinity for my best friend, Damon. It didn't take long to spot him and his neon green coffin shaped nails, waving me down from a small booth in the corner. Examining me from head to toe, Damon stitched his brows and poked his lips as he slid out from the booth, "yes, ma'am! Come all the way through in the all white attire, Ms. Lisa Raye." I giggled and wrapped my arms around his neck while he swayed us from side to side.

Damon and I met when we were fourteen year old freshmen. Back then, he was reserved and soft spoken, the polar opposite of the flamboyant man that he is today. We pulled from our embrace and took a seat across from one another. "You know, I spotted your nails before I spotted you, right," I grabbed the drink menu. "You don't like them," he flipped his hand over, pressing the the tip of his nails into his plan, looking them over. "They're cute and loud, just like you," I smiled cheekily before browsing the drink menu.

"How was work?" He asked. I sighed and shook my head, "today was a long day to say the least. You've heard about the string of missing pregnant women throughout the Tri-State, right?" Damon nodded his head. "Well the case landed at our feet this morning after two of the victims bodies were discovered. One just outside of Jersey and the other in Rhode Island. After ceasing the computers of the two victims, we found they had both done web search on this particular adoption agency."

The waitress approached the table, her rose tinted lips stretched into a smile. "Hello! My name is Dawn and I'll be serving the two of you tonight," she tucked loose blonde tresses behind her smiled and went inside of her apron, pulling out a small notebook and pen. "Can I start the two of you off with an appetizer? We're running a half off special on our wings and grilled shrimp on the barbie." I looked over to Damon, "do you want to get both?" He nodded his head, "that's fine."

Dawn jotted down the order, "and what to drink?" I twisted my lips to the side and knitted my eyebrows as I went back and forth between the liquid marijuana and the rum bucket, I'll take the liquid marijuana, please." She nodded at my request and turned her attention to Damon, "for you, sir?" Damon jokingly waved her off, "honey, just bring me the bar and put it on her tab." The three of us laughed. "I'll take a long island," Damon ordered. Dawn placed her pen and pad back into her apron, "I'll be right out with those drinks." She smiled once more before turning onto her heels.
