"So," I dipped a wing in the ranch dressing, "how was your date last night," I bit into the flat. Kia picked up her drink and took a sip. "We had to take a rain check. His friend was killed the other night." I grabbed a napkin and wiped around my mouth, "Jesus! Its been so much death these past few days."

"You know some folks have no regard for human life," she shook her her head. "You look pretty," Kia smiled. "That blue goes good against your skin tone."

"Thank you. It was on sale at Zara's and I thought it was so cute. Titties need to be a lil bigger,"  Kia and I laughed as I held my breast that weren't filling the top out the way that I thought they would. "Don't worry. I have enough for it, you just wash it and put it away for me," Kia winked. I laughed and grabbed my glass of patron. Since Elijah has Nina tonight I'd decided to come with Kia to a small lounge on the west side. "Have you been getting things ready for the Halloween party?" I asked. "I went to Party City the other day and got a few decorations. I'm going to get some of the liquor and beer next week. I found this caterer on Instagram so I'm thinking about doing finger foods. Wings, meatballs, dip, and pasta salad. That should be good, right?"

"That's fine. You're not trying to get people's bellies full, just a little something to put on their stomachs while they dr-" a server approached our table with two drinks on a plastic tray. She sat the drinks down on the table in front of Kia and I, "complimentary from the gentleman at the bar. He's cute, too," she tilted her head and smiled before walking away. I looked over my shoulder at the bar and there sat Donovan. He smiled and stood up from the barstool, grabbing his drink.

"Who is that?" Kia asked. I turned around to face her, "Donovan," I took another sip of the drink I'd already had. "Damn! He's fine as hell and on his way over here." Donovan approached our table and extended his hand out to Kia, "Donovan," he smiled. She shook his hand, "Kia." He turned to me, "you look beautiful. How are you?"

"Thank you," I smiled politely. "I'm fine. How are you?" He shrugged, "I'm cool. Work has been kicking my ass, you know how that goes." I chuckled and nodded, "all too well. Thank you for the drinks. You didn't have to do that."

"I know, but I wanted to. Call it a small peace offering," he smiled. I'm assuming he's referring to the events that took place in my apartment a few weeks ago. "We've already spoken about that, Don. We're good."

"I know what you said, but I still want to apologize to you in person because that's what you deserve. I was a dickhead and I was in the wrong. I had no right to say the things that I said to you nor accuse you of the things that I did. I'm not proud of actions and I apologize."

"Thank you, I appreciate it," I gave him a small smile. He nodded and smiled, "good, good. Well, I won't keep you two from enjoying your night. It's good seeing you, beautiful," he looked back once more as he walked off. "Aww," Kia cooed, "that was so cute! Why didn't you ask him to join us?"
