"Do you think things get better with time?" I texted Amy.

"I believe they do if we truly want them to." Was her reply.

....

Had it been a weekend, I would have had some time to recharge and think things through, but I had to be over here again, acting like everything is pink and dandy. When my mind is swimming in absolute chaos.

Sometimes, I wish I could pause time and just take a few days off to organize my thoughts and think things through before I face the world again. But I'm scared that if I did, I would never wanna come back again.

"Looks like she will be joining us today as well," Mumbled Zay, eyeing the pair approaching our table. She had been undeniably bitter towards Senna, and it bothers me to know I am the reason she is hating on someone who, till now, hasn't shown us any reason to hate her. But still, there is always a little part of me that's happy she has my back on this. I know it's bad, but I just can't help it.

"It's okay, she is a friend of his." I shrugged, trying to convince myself it's just an innocent act of kindness and friendship, we all make friends, don't we? "Oh really?" She raised her eyebrows, looking at me in disbelief.

"Like, what am I supposed to do? Kill them?" I whispered, slightly annoyed by her expression, but she didn't get a chance to reply as they sat their trays on the table greeting us. I mumbled a hi trying to sport a smile as they took their seats next to mine, and I could feel the heat of his body from this close proximity. "I hope I am not being too much," exclaimed the blonde.

"It's just that being the new girl isn't really a piece of cake, you know!" She exclaimed, and I nodded in agreement. I knew for a fact it is never easy moving from one place to another, especially when it comes to school. "Actually, Claire transferred here on freshman year," Announced the guy next to me, as if he just read my mind, and I could feel all their eyes turning towards me. "Really?" Cried Senna, probably happy to see someone who can relate to her struggles.

"Yeah," I said, taking a sip off my water bottle, as I felt Zayna's eyes burning holes on the side of my face. "We moved here because of my dad's work." I added.

"Was it hard?"

"It was," I admitted, "But it gets easier, and you get to know people, and it eventually starts to feel less lonely."

"You found your people." She nodded. "I got lucky," I smiled.

"Hope you find yours soon," Said Zayna, and I couldn't help but hear the underlying sting in her voice which I would take a lucky guess and say, Adam noticed as well, as he shot her a confused look before asking where the other two were. "Not here yet," said Zay coldly, once again getting a strange look from Adam. Oh god!

"Obviously," I faked a chuckle, but her face looked so stingy, it could burn. "They went to Mrs. Loury," I answered, their eyes turning to me. "Why?" Asked Adam in confusion. I guess no one told him about what happened yet!

"You probably didn't hear, I guess you were busy giving tours." Said Zay. "Why are you being such an asshole?" Asked Adam, his eyebrows going up in confusion. "Maybe you are," She argued, raising her eyebrows challengingly.

"I think we're gonna need a moment here." I said, already up, with her hand in mine sending the two of them an apologetic smile as we walked away and out of the cafeteria. "Why are you being a bitch?" I asked as soon as we were out of the cafeteria and out of earshot. "Why are you acting like you're okay with what's going on?" She cried in disbelief. "You freaking cringe every time you see them C!" She added, and I nodded in agreement. "I do,"
