"What's wrong with her?" Asked Adam his eyes on something behind the two, who just joined us. "Beats me," Cried Zay, taking her seat next to me as Zack followed in tow, sitting next to her, and I could see how furious that simple act made Kaitlyn as she positioned herself a few benches behind us, enough to observe their every move.
"Zee," Whispered Adam, "Laugh out loud, and look at Zack." He added in a low voice as she did just that, as we subtly observed the girl's reaction.
"And now we know what's up," Chuckled Adam, noticing the fire coming out of her ear.
"She was flirting with him up there," Cried Zay. "She is shameless dude,"
"Apparently she broke up with her toy and now she wants a new one," Said Zay in disgust. "That's why she talked to you!" I exclaimed as it hit me.
"You bet,"
"So she did want something after all!" I exclaimed.
"Bitches like her can never be good Claire," She sighed. "They like to manipulate their way into your life just to get what you have."
"Wouldn't be able to manipulate me out of your life now, would she?" Smiled Zack, as he wrapped his arm around her pulling her closer, and I could see Adam's eyes shifting backwards sneakily. "I know," She smiled. I swear to god those two are a match made in heaven no matter how much they try to deny it.
"She is dead," Announced Adam, making me laugh. See? Even Kaitlyn knows it! "Your cuteness just killed her," He added.
"Oh shut up," Cried Zay, leaning over me to hit him.
"Have you seen Joey?" Asked Zee, scanning the crowd for the familiar head. "I think I saw him back there," I replied, looking back to look for the guy in the crowd of heads filling the place, as the game was about to start.
"Up there," I pointed, waving hi when he noticed us. Zayna motioned for him to come sit with us, but he mouthed that he was with friends, so she gave him a thumbs up before we turned back to the field.
"Did you bring the snacks?" She asked Zack, already opening his bag. "Yeah, and the drinks are in his bag." He replied pointing at the guy next to me, letting her roam around getting all the packets of snacks out, sitting it on my lap.
"Here," Said Adam handing them their cokes, "And yours, malady," He added handing me a lemon soda. "Thank you, ma lord" I joked, taking it from him.
"They're coming out," Announced Zee, sitting the bag down, leaving me with snack bags all over my lap.
Adam helped me sit the snacks on the empty seat beside him, as the crowd started cheering for the other team as they entered the field. And I could sense Zayna fidgeting around searching for something in her bag, before getting it out, stretching it in front of her, making us laugh as I held Adam forward keeping him from falling backwards with laughter. "You freaking did it!" He exclaimed, in between the laughter making me chuckle at his face, almost dropping him to the ground.
She nodded pointing at the big yellow bag she was carrying earlier, "It's in there." She smiled, holding the slightly wrinkled sign up and I could see Natasha's face crunch up as she entered the field, trying to fight the chuckle as she read it, MY MIDDLE FINGER AWAITS YOU.
I could feel some heads turning our way, including the few teachers who were a little annoyed by the sign, but they probably didn't want to cause trouble over a sign so they just held back as the game started.
You could tell from the very start that both teams came to win, but even though I knew so little about basketball with my only guide being Natasha and Amy, I could tell that our girls got the benefit with their smooth moves and rather strategic game plan. Or so I was told!
I sat back and watched, cheering every now and then as they scored and I could see the scouters' impressed faces as they sat close to the field observing the girls. "They love them," I pointed out.
"She'll get it," Nodded Adam, following my eyes. "She will," I nodded.
"Oh oh oh," Cried Zay, grabbing my hand making me look back at the game, where Natasha was serving another goal, "Yes, yes." We cried as she put the ball through the basket hoop bringing everyone up to their feet once again, as the ball fell onto the ground indicating another goal, just as the referee whistled indicating the end of the game, with our team in lead with a few points.
"Hell yes," Cried the guy next to me, as we all cheered at the top of our lungs while the girls hugged in excitement, celebrating their win.
"I knew it," Cried Zayna, getting out the bright yellow middle finger foam figure, raising it up for everyone to see, getting us a few glares from the teachers, but she just kept jumping up and down showing it off, making me chuckle in amusement.
"Oh my god," Cried Natasha after a few minutes, coming towards us as the bleachers started clearing out. "You killed it," I cried giving her a hug, followed by the others as I handed her a bottle of water. "I did, right?" She exclaimed happily, taking a sip of her bottle.
"Are you kidding me?" Asked Adam in amusement. "They freaking loved it," He added, motioning towards where the panel was seated.
"You should have seen their faces," I added.
"I hope." She sighed.
"You'll get it," Smiled Zack, patting her shoulder in assurance. "Don't worry." As she nodded in appreciation.
"You actually brought it?" She exclaimed, pointing at the finger, now long forgotten on the ground. "I keep my promises," Winked the brunette.
"You do," Chuckled Ash, looking back at her team retreating back into the dressing rooms. "I'll see you in a minute," She said waving goodbye as she made her way back with her team.
"So this was planned?" Asked Zack in confusion, pointing at the foam finger.
"That's an adult story, I'll tell you once you grow a moustache." Said Zee, patting him on the back, making me smile.
"So," I interrupted. "Where do you wanna eat?" I asked, looking at the two of them.
"Pizza?" Asked Zack, getting an okay from Zayna and me. "And you?" He asked Adam, who just stood there.
"He's got a date," Said Zee sarcastically. "What?" Asked Zack in confusion, and I could sense his eyes shift to me for a second, before turning back to Adam.
"It's not a date," He argued, narrowing his eyes at the girl next to me, before turning back to Zack.
"I promised Senna we would hang out after rehearsals today, and I can't just bail on her!" He explained.
"Oh!" Nodded the guy in understanding.
"Where is she anyways?" I asked, looking around the now empty field for any signs of the blond. "I'll be picking her up at the theater." He explained.
"We can wait out if you want," I said. "I'll just text Ash to meet us there," I added, as they started collecting the empty packets shoving them into an empty plastic bag.
"She said you two hung out last week!" Adam exclaimed, turning to me as he helped Zayna with the foam finger.
I raised my eyebrows. "She did?" I asked stupidly, feeling their eyes on me.
"You hung out with Senna?" Asked Zayna in confusion.
"Mmm, yeah we just met for a minute there, nothing much really." I chuckled awkwardly, shaking my head.
"I didn't know you two were that close," Said she suspiciously, as I shrugged uncomfortably.
"I think we should go," Said Zack, coming to my rescue. "Yeah, and I'll text Ash." I nodded, already walking towards the door.
