Chyann's pov
"You know what, fine. I'll wait for you, Jacc. I'll wait until you acknowledge me. And call me your best friend again." Chernoa's voice was strained with sadness and determination. The determination to get her best friend back, but Jacckie was just sitting there, with that cold look on her face.
That pissed me off. Obviously Jacckie was a terrible friend. And I did not like seeing Chernoa so devastated over her best friend who no longer acknowledged her. "Hey, idiot! She's talking to you!" I hissed at the stone faced girl. "Chyann." Chernoa warned. I rolled my eyes.
"Come on let's just continue finding the antidote. Lionel deal with Jacckie." Wayne said. "So where to now?" I asked Chernoa. "Let's just walk." Chernoa grinned at me.
"You heard her! Get up!" Lionel shoved Jacckie harshly, making her face twist into a scowl before she stood up. It was evident that we did not like her and that the only person who treated her nicely was Chernoa. "Guys... just be nice... Don't hurt her.." Chernoa sighed. "Geez we get it but she's still a hostage!" I said in exasperation. "Ugh fine but don't hurt her too much." Chernoa gave in.
I smirked triumphantly at the boys. Then I glared at Jacckie. I punched her in the face. "OOF THAT GOTTA HURT GURLLLLL!!!" Wayne and Lionel were hooting, basking in the delight of hurting our enemy. The girl growled lowly. "That's for kicking me in the gut, asshole." I sneered at the angered girl. "Okay guys, that's enough." Chernoa eyed Jacckie.
"Tch. Move, asshole." Lionel jabbed Jacckie, making her walk forward, with that scowl still on her face. "Abandoned hospital!" Wayne shouted. "Hospitals have medical supplies in them. We should go in and collect some." I suggested. The group hummed in agreement.
When we stepped into the hospital, there was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just medicines and operation equipment lying around and blood. I was starting to doubt there were any zombies here in the first place. "I'm just gonna take all the medicines that tells us what they can be used for." Wayne started shoving bottles of medicine into his backpack. Lionel was busy exploring while dragging Jacckie along with him. Then I heard clanging. Clanging? We were the only people here, weren't we?
"Do you guys hear that?" I asked. "Hear what?" Wayne looked at me. I placed a finger on my lips and signalled to them to listen carefully. More clanging. This time, it was louder. We all heard it. And were looking at me fearfully. I unsheathed my katana and walked forward, with Chernoa behind me, a gun in her hand. "Zombies?" Chernoa whispered to me. "No idea." I whispered back.
The both of us walked in the direction of the clanging. We came to a room. "Open the door." I nudged Chernoa forward. "What?! Why me?!" Chernoa protested. "Just do it!" I hissed. "Fine but if I die this is your fault. Do I open the door slowly or slam open the door?" She asked. "Err up to you but most preferably slowly.." I was cut off when Chernoa kicked the door open with her leg. "Oops?" She grinned cheekily at me. I rolled my eyes.
Looking inside the room, we saw a lot of zombies. A 40-50 kind of a lot. We stared at the zombies. The zombies looked at us. For a split second nobody did anything. Then the zombies roared and started swarming at us. "HOLY GODS! CHYANN RUN!! GO TELL THE OTHERS TO GET OUT OF HERE! I'LL CATCH UP SOON!" Chernoa screamed at me, while slicing off zombie heads. "BUT YOU'LL BE HERE ALONE!" I shouted. "JUST GO!" Chernoa shoved me in the direction of the team. I ran, looking back to see Chernoa rapidly firing at the zombies.
When I ran back, I saw the team still there. "GUYS! THERE ARE ZOMBIES HERE WE HAVE TO GO! CHERNOA IS BUSY HOLDING OFF THE ZOMBIE LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" I yelled anxiously. Wayne frowned with worry, "What? Where is she? We have to go help!" "No! Chernoa knows what she's doing. We get out of here. I know she'll come back. She's giving us time to evacuate. Let's use this time wisely." I said seriously. "Fine." Wayne grumbled.
For a moment I saw worry flash in Jacckie's eyes. But then it disappeared.
I know you still care about her, but you refuse to show it.
Why do you hide it, Jacckie?
It only makes Chernoa hurt more.
