(sorry that this chapter's so short.)

It was actually a happy time a while after that. Zira and Sarabi were friends, and Zira was eventually introduced to Sarabi's other best friend, Sarafina. Usually, Taka and Mufasa would find some way to sneak away from Ahadi, to meet up with the three lionesses in the savanna. They played together quite a bit, and eventually, Zira introduced her friends to her sister. Everyone got along, and Almasi started going with Zira to play with her friends more than she went to train with her father.

Zira felt that all was right with the world. Sometimes, she and Taka would just spend time on their own. They would talk to each other about life at home, and sometimes, just sit and play. Eventually, Zira developed feelings for Taka, and he developed feelings for her.

But, all good things have to come to an end. One day, when Zira was spending time with Taka, king Ahadi secretly followed them. He saw that they were spending time together, and that alone would've set him off, but he saw that they were beginning to fall for each other, and that made the situation ten times worse. Ahadi came out of nowhere, almost landing on Zira and Taka. Jumping out of the way, Zira's ears went back in fear. The king was staring her down, growling.

"I thought I told you once to stay away from my son." He growled.

"Father, it wasn't her fault, I-"

"SILENCE!!!!" The king bellowed at Taka, then turned back to Zira. "I gave you your chance, little one. Looks like I'll have to send some other kind of message." He bared his claws.

"Father, no!!! She wasn't doing any-" but Ahadi had his paw up in the air, ready to strike. Zira stayed where she was, terrified. He brought his paw down onto her, striking her back. She yelped in pain. He slashed again, forming a nick in her ear. He raised his paw for a third time, but she turned and ran, crying out of pain.

She hid out in the weeds, still able to see Taka and his father. Ahadi turned to his son. "Looks like Zira isn't the only one who needs to be taught a bit more of a lesson!!!"

He rose his paw, and Taka stood there, frozen in fear. Ahadi swiped down and a scar was left on Taka's left eye.

Zira gasped silently as the king raised his paw again, but before he could strike, Taka used the roar of the elders against the king

Zira gasped silently as the king raised his paw again, but before he could strike, Taka used the roar of the elders against the king. It sent Ahadi flying backwards, barely farther than where Zira was hiding. With fear and tears in his eyes, Taka ran away, bawling. Zira, trying to hide her tears, silently slinked away, towards home.
