Jason was so excited when he arrived home one day from school: "Guess what, grandma, I've got a girlfriend. She is so sweet but kind of shy and really beautiful."

"I'm sure she is, you have good taste," I replied and smiled as he skipped away. You told me that it was so sweet to see them holding hands during the lunch break. I couldn't help to wonder how long this relationship would last, he was so young, he was only in year two. Well, it actually lasted much longer than I thought and only ended when she and her parents moved away two years later. His little heart was broken and I felt so sorry for him. I just hoped that he would find someone, someday that would be able to make him happy and mend all those scars.

Strange that you wrote about Jason and that I had to read this part today. He and Ilse showed up at the restaurant today and guess what grandma? The two of them had only eyes for each other. I noticed that James was moving kind of uncomfortable in his chair, then he took my hand and whispered in my ear: "Did you know that they were an item?" I shook my head and at the same time felt something glides over my ring finger. There it was again, that electric feeling, running through my body, from my head to my toes. I might have turned red and at that moment, Patsy joined the group.

"Wow, Beth!" she squealed, what's happening, you're as red as a tomato?" I looked at James and he produced my hand from underneath the table and said with a big smile; "She's my girl now, so meet my girlfriend."

"Awe, thank you," I said, as he got up and drew me into a hug to kiss me tenderly.

"And I thought that I'm the one with the announcement to make, I wanted to tell you that Ilse and I were an item now."

"I've been waiting so long for this moment, I couldn't let you spoil it," James said while he squeezed my hand, "but go ahead you can tell us now."

"Okay, we are a couple now, I thought I'll tell you, I gave Ilze a ring yesterday when we have dined alone."

For a few seconds, I sensed an awkwardness, then I realized that I'm the only one that can do something about it: "Show me your ring!" I said to Ilse. "Awe that's beautiful," I said, holding my hand for her to look at mine. They're kind of similar, with slight differences in the settings, both rings were beautiful. "You guys have excellent taste," I said smiling at both of them."

"Tell me, did you talk to one another beforehand, did you plan it like this?" Ilse asked with a lifted brow.

"No!" It was Jason who answered quickly while James looked amused.

"You can say true friends seem to think alike," James said, giving me his adoring smile.

"That is kind of special, I like it," I said, giving Ilse an encouraging smile.  I couldn't help to notice that Patsy was very quiet through the whole evening, even when I took their food to them later in the evening.  I made a mental note to talk to my sister to find out what is bothering her.  It's not like Patsy to be jealous of her friend or me.
