It was Christmas and I was housesitting for a friend of your mother, she has three dogs, a cat two birds, and at least ten fishes. Grandpa and I had a lot of fun. June is a large black Labrador puppy with big brown puppy eyes and friendly and playful nature. She was like a baby, following us with her toys or begging for treats. She woke us at dawn for a toothbrush with her dental sticks. Then she got on the bed for a cuddle, just adorably cute.

The other two are whippets, called Harry and Olga, Harry is quite a gentlemen and was followed all over the place by Olga. They joined June at dawn for their dental sticks and then they resided to the couch in the lounge, waiting for us to play with them their favorite ballgames.

Tinky, the cat napped on the girl's bed during the daytime and in the evening she would come out for her snacks and purr, rubbing her soft fur against your legs and turned on her back for a cuddle. Too cute for words.

The birds, Hoppy, and Peaches would start calling from underneath their blanket as soon as they heard movement in the house. Their feeding process, with fresh water and food, went smooth accompanied by their guiding squicks. Then Grandpa started whistling a tune during the feeding process and they both sat quietly, listening to the tune. It was so precious.

The fish was another story, you wouldn't even know that there were fish, till you tip a handful of food into the water, their yellow fins and white bellies soon appeared from underneath and between the waterlilies and the whole pond seems to come alive. Animals are such precious creatures, it's a pity they got scared and lost as a result of the fireworks over the festive season. There were some evenings that we had all three dogs with us on the bed, they were too scared to sleep in their beds.

Grandma, I woke up the next morning to find George and Patsy fast asleep on the sofa in the living room, cuddled up in each other's arms. It was so sweet, I had to cough a few times before Patsy woke up. She covered George quickly with a light blanket and joined me in the kitchen for our first cup of coffee.

She told me he forgot to charge his phone the night before their last paper and had to hurry to the airport after their exams, as his flight was booked for three in the afternoon. He wanted to surprise her, but the flight was delayed for about three hours and that is why she didn't hear from him.

He was exhausted, but she couldn't leave him alone and fell asleep next to him.  The nice part is that he actually finished his veterinarian degree and their dreams are starting to fall in place. They're both passionate about animals and looking forward to making a difference in their lives.

They are planning to work at the same animal hospital, till they can afford to open their own veterinarian clinic. They have it all planned out and I pray that it will work out fine for them. They have put such a lot of effort into their studies and are so passionate about our animal friends, they deserve it.  I'm really excited on their behalf.
