Kayla came home from school one day, crying, she told her mom that she was walking down the street after school when a car stopped next to her.  The guy in the car offered her candy, she shook her head and ran away.  He let out some dirty swearwords and one of the senior girls that walked in front of her stopped at her gate, starting to open it when Kayla came running towards her.  Luckily she took note of what was happening because they were the only kids on the street.

She grabbed Kayla by the arm and dragged her with her through the gate;  "he wanted to give me candy" was all that Kayla could say.  The girl, Maureen was her name took her into her house and told her she did the right thing.  She offered to phone Kayla's mom and made her a cup of tea.  Poor Kayla she was still in shock when she arrived home.  I'm so glad she trusted her instincts and ran away, it could have been so much worse, I don't want to think of it.

O' Grandma, something similar happened to me today.  It was about nine 'o clock in the evening when the same guy that was staring at me before, the one that gave me the creeps, arrived and sat down at the same table as before.  James has not shown up and I remembered he said that they were working on an urgent project.  I asked one of my colleagues to attend to the creepy customer.  The next moment Gareth and his new girlfriend showed up and made themselves at home at one of my tables.  At that moment I became aware of a throbbing headache that was wearing me down.

I told my colleague about it and he offered to attend to my tables and urged me to go home.  I noticed that the creepy guy has received his food and I snatched my bag and ran off to the parking lot.  When I was halfway down the stairs I sensed that someone was following me, I turned my head to see that it was the creepy guy and that he was catching up fast.  As soon as I reached the bottom of the stairs I started running for my car.  Luckily for me, it wasn't parked too far off.  I grabbed my keys from my bag but dropped it when I tried to press the button to open it.  At that moment a big hand clamped over my mouth and another gripped around my body.  I was scared out of my mind.

I was just as suddenly released as I was grabbed and the guy tumbled to the floor.  When I turned around James was standing behind me and Jason was taking off his tie, to tie the hands of the guy on the floor.  I fell into James's arms and he held me close to him.

Ilse phoned the police, while James tried to calm me down.  "What happened? he asked me, "why are you here and not at work?"

"I had a bad headache and was sent home, then he followed me and I started running and dropped my key before I could open the car." I cried.

"Well, he'll have to explain to the police what his intention was.  Here they are now,"  Jason said.

"You again, which lady did you harass this time?"  The guy that regained his conscience after the blow that James gave him on the neck, stared blankly at the officer who questioned him.

I nodded at the officer and he asked me to fill out a form and lay an official charge.  They took him away and promised me that he would not bother me again.

I was so relieved and was glad that James insisted to take me home and Ilse offered to drive my car.  They ordered some pizza and spent the rest of the evening at our home trying to cheer me up, but I still shudder to think of what could have happened.  I will never walk alone if my instincts tell me there is a danger.
