We had so much fun while we made the dresses for the flower girls.  The girls, Tracey and Judy were seven and five and they enjoyed the fitting sessions and parading for the Grandpas.  With every fitting session, we were thanked with a hug and I  could see why Lizzie thought they were just adorable.

The beautiful apricot satin dresses were finished too quickly and when we finished sewing on the large chiffon bows on the back, they were looking gorgeous.  Trevor's daughter spoiled us with homemade cupcakes when she brought them for the last fitting.  Not only were they looking gorgeous, but they spoiled us with their hugs of appreciation.

"I wish I could make my own granddaughter a similar dress,"  Lizzie said with a sad smile after they left.

"Why not?  What is her age?"

"She will be six in two months."

"Well we can make it the same size as Tracey's, then you send them an invitation with a photo of the dress and ask them to allow her to be your flower girl.  Nobody will have the heart to refuse such an offer."

"Then I will have to buy Johnny  something too."

"Well, you still need a ringbearer, don't you?   How old is he?"

"Only four."

"Perfect, you only need to buy him a pair of black trousers and we can make him a  fancy waistcoat of satin, and he'll need a bowtie."

"Do you think I should try it?"

I smiled encouragingly:  "Nothing to lose and lots to gain."  Well, needless to say, she did it and it worked. Not only did they attend the wedding, but they also spent every second Christmas after the wedding with her and Trevor.  I am so happy for her.

Wow!  Grandma, I got the job, I'm starting in two weeks time and I'm super excited. James and I are going to celebrate tonight.  I feel so blessed, we are going to discuss our wedding plans for the seventh of December.

Mom can't wait to hear what we have in mind and I'll have to keep a tight rope on her or she will invite the whole world.  I suppose I will have to leave her to do the organizing because she is really good at that.  As long as James and I can do the planning.

I'm thinking of Inola and Patsy as my bridesmaids and of course, Jason and George will have to stand in as best men.  Ilse's little sister will make a cute flower girl and their nephew turned four last week, I might ask his mom, but I should hear what James think before I ask them.

What about the dress and the colors of the bridesmaids' dresses and the flowers?  That apricot idea sounds beautiful.  I think I should page through a few magazines before I get ready for tonight, then I might have a few ideas to discuss with the bridegroom.  I love the sound of it and the idea of spending my life with him.  O' Grandma this is so exciting, I wish you could be here to share it with us, but in a way, I think you are sharing it through your diary.
