Beth's POV

It's been weeks since Alex started coming to the kitchen to have breakfast with the girls, and for weeks I have been avoiding him like the plague. first of all, I didn't want to talk about that night and openly admit how incredibly stupid I was out loud. 

The man had rules and it was his house so I tried my hardest to live by them and not get in his way. He had guests over by the house about three times for the last two weeks and most parts I stayed out of their way. I bumped into a few of them twice while doing some chores but I quickly said my sorry and excuse myself. The last time the person was a man I walked in on in the kitchen while trying to get Ailey some juice.

"Hi there" the man had said from behind me. " you are new here aren't you?"

at first, I was a bit startled but then I quickly answered. "Yes ... yes  I am, " I told him.

He was elegantly dressed in a three-piece suit seeming like him just left the office, his eye was dark brown, the kind of eyes a girl could get lost in. His muscles were well defined through his suit and his voice was sexy as hell.

"Well it's nice to meet you," he said stopping my eyes from taking in every square inch of his body. He smile when I didn't answer, "So what's your name beautiful?" 

"hmm, it. it's Bethany but you can call me Beth "I barely got out.

"SOOO .." he said. " do you work here Beth?" I could see Alex walk into the entrance of the room but he didn't come in, he just stood there not interrupting.

"No, no I don't am just a family friend," I answered quickly, just to show I was following the rules set. "Well that's great, are you going be around for a while? he asked me this time with the most devilish smirk I've ever seen and I couldn't help but smile.

"Yes, probably am not sure yet," I answered honestly. " Well beautiful I know you're not sure but if you are here you must let me take you for dinner one of these nights." he finish but just as I was going to answer Alex walked into the room.

"oh David this is where you have been hiding?" he asked as he pat the man on the back. 

 " I was just talking to your beautiful house guest here," he told him.

"So what do you say Beth ?" he turned back to me.

"Sure, I am still here by them," I told him and quickly took the juice box from the fridge and tried to make my leave. 

"So Beth, where would you leave the girls when you go out?" Alexander's voice said before I could get out of the kitchen. THAT MF!! when I turn the smile Alex had on his face could make me kill him.

I felt so awkward, " that's true, I have two girls," I said to David without meeting his eye. I could feel Alex's eyes on me and that fucking smile on his face.
"If you don't mind Beth I could arrange for someone to watch your girls when the time comes and when you are comfortable I could meet them." David's voice said and my head snapped up in surprise. when my eyes caught Alex the smile on his face was completely gone.

I'll let you know David thanks" I said quickly and left the room. 

Since that encounter in the kitchen, I've stayed as far away from Alex as possible.

The maid Alex assigned to the girls offered to make them breakfast so I didn't go down with them for breakfast for the past three mornings and was careful to wait for him to be gone to the office before I left my room.

By the time I left my room, it was almost ten in the morning and he was always out by seven thirty at the latest for work.
I step out of my room after cleaning up with the front of my bathrobe still open exposing my bra and underwear. my hands were over my head trying to catch my hair in a bun and I wasn't paying attention when I felt an arm grab me and held my hand in place where they were. I was so startled I screamed and snapped my head up only to find Alex's angry face staring daggers at me and before I knew it my back was against the wall of the hallway.

"What the hell do you think you're doing Beth?" he said with so much anger I flinched a bit.

"What did I do now?" I asked afraid to meet his eyes.
"Where the fuck have you been the last few mornings for breakfast?" he spat.
" I was here," I told him but it only seem to make him angrier.
"And you don't think the girls deserve for their mother to make them breakfast?" before I could say anything at all he continued.
"Oh, don't tell me you have a maid so it's okay for her to do your job? You don't have a job so you don't have to work and pay her so all you wanna do is lay around to house?" I felt my heart sink with every sentence and my anger quickly match his.

"What are you trying to say, Alex?" I yelled trying to twist out of his hands but it was no use.
"Who the fuck do you think you are?" before I could open my mouth again he punched the wall next to my head and I jumped.
I could feel my heart beat fast in my chest and the tears sting at the corner of my eye. 

"Did you just yell at me ?! he shout at me " And did you call me Alex!?" I couldn't talk I was afraid of how it would sound.
"When I ask a question I expect it to be answered Bethany," he said this time in a low cold voice in my ears. I could feel my feet give out under me and I shut my eyes tight.

As he let me slide to the floor I said " Me coming to breakfast isn't one of the rules and I know cause I listened."

"Well, it's one now," he said and I still couldn't make my face look up at him. "You can't just change the rules so they suit you every time," I whispered.
"I can and I will," he told me bending down to be on my level and using his hand to lift my face to meet his now blazing eyes.

"As of tomorrow you will be at breakfast every morning and all four of us will have breakfast together. I don't care if you make the breakfast or someone else does it but we all will be having it together." his tone spoke of finality and I didn't say anything, I  didn't know what to say then.
"You don't want me coming back up here" he finished.

As he stood up and walk back down the hall I whispered "I don't know what I got myself in." he turn but didn't look at me, "Trust me when I say you'll soon find out."
