Dart:

I kind of stared at Kris' limp form for a moment, debating whether or not she was worth the trouble to wake up, or at least move.

She was laying there, her body kind of pretzly shaped in a fashion that look kind of uncomfortable.

“Should we help her?”

Oh yeah…James.

I turn and look at him. He is staring at her wide-eyed, and I don’t know if he is more shocked by her state, or by the fact that I seem to know her. He is very well aware of the fact that I am socially impaired, but no, I don’t tinkle in the woods.

I now hate the word tinkle.

“Just,” I groan and rub one hand down my face, “help me get her into the house, at least.”

I moved over and grabbed her arms, her head lolling back and almost touching the ground. James grabbed her feet and we lifted her, me using my boot to kick the door out of the way as we got her inside.

We laid her down on the ground and then sat on the couch in front of her, both staring at her with anticipation for her awkward coming-back-to-reality moment.

James sat twiddling his thumbs, like some helpless father figure waiting on news of surgery on his kid. I just kind of glared at her, maybe if I mentally screamed wake up at her the telepathetic connection thingy would work.

It did.

She sat up with a yell and looked around with wide eyes. Her crazy eyes settled on me for a moment before widening to the point I thought they would pop out of her head when she saw James.

“Hello, how are you feeling?” James put his best foot forward by being friendly.

“Umm…ok I guess?” She looked around with this stupid confused face. “Where am I?”

“Narnia.” I snapped and stood, stepping over her inconvenient self on the floor and walking over to lean against the doorframe.

She shot me this innocently lame attempt at an annoyed look before turning back to James. “I am not exactly sure what Narnia is, but I know we are not there.”

“Nope.” James shook his head and shot me a look that said retract the claws tiger before looking back at little miss sunshine. “We are somewhere in the middle of New Mexico.”

“Of all places, why here?”

James looked to me and I shrugged. “Less people, so less chances to piss Daniella off.”

“Daniella?” She looked at me for one second then realization hit her. “Oh that’s you.” She points a finger at me and I swear I am going to bite it.

“My name is Dylan.”

“Whatever you say Daniella.” James laughs.

I shoot him a look to get him to shut his trap before taking a step towards Kris. “The real question is, what the heck are you doing here?!”

“Basically to sum it up I was in this laboratory looking for Agent Hill and there was some guy in there and I got a headache and mind control stuff happened. Long story short he turned into the Hulk and then there was this green serum thing and I got stabbed with it and I ended up here.”

James nodded and my eyes narrowed. “You broke into Banner’s office? And you made him mad?!”

She sniffed defensively. “It wasn’t on purpose.”

I roll my eyes. Whatever.

“Why were you going to see Hill?” James asked her, settling back into the couch with his arms folded behind his head.
