gathered around in a room, the eighteen members of nct sat on the hardwood floor in front of many cameras. they were stopped during practice so they were all barefaced and a little tired.
"pick your roommate game!" doyoung announced, clapping while everyone else followed.
"mc dongyoung~!" grinned yingyue from between jisung and jeno.
"everyone, let me explain the rules," doyoung said. "please listen carefully. you will pick one of either two groups. the members from group a will pick one in-ear set from group b."
jisung and yingyue shared a confused look while doyoung got up to stand near the stacked boxes to their right.
"i don't understand~" taeyong whined.
"so i come out and pick one of these," doyoung mentioned towards the boxes on the right before moving over to the left and picking up a random box. "then i'll be roommates with the owner of this in-ear set."
"ahh~" some of them nodded.
"anyone who doesn't understand?"
johnny, yuta, jaehyun, lucas, chenle, sicheng, and haechan all raised their hands and doyoung sighed. he quickly explained the game in a way that the remaining seven would understand.
"wait, are groups a and b randomly divided?" mark asked.
"yes."
"okay, that's fair."
doyoung nodded, "then i'll call out each member."
"i wanna be roommates with noona," jisung mentioned, linking his arm with yingyue's.
"me too!" chenle almost screamed, scooting back and sitting between her legs.
pretending to be annoyed but also secretly wanting to room with yingyue too, doyoung picked up the first box.
"the first one to go is.." he trailed off, taking the earpiece out. "jeno!"
despite being confused, jeno stood up and walked towards the stack on their left, choosing a box on the bottom row.
"jungwoo hyung."
while everybody clapped and cheered, jungwoo went over to jeno and hugged him after giving him a high-five.
"our love forever!" jungwoo cutely said to the camera before they both sat back down.
"the next person is jaehyun!"
said person did the same as jeno, only this time, his chosen roommate was jisung. even though the maknae wanted to be with yingyue, he couldn't help but be surprised and excited to room with jaehyun.
"we'll be well together," jaehyun and jisung said to the camera.
within the next two rounds, lucas and renjun ended up pairing together and johnny and kun became roommates.
"this time, i'll choose two earpieces."
"why?" taeil asked.
"why not?"
and so the "mc" did just that and when he opened one of the two boxes, yuta pointed at it.
"ah, that's winwin's," he said.
"it's lee mark," taeil corrected.
"it's ten's," chuckled doyoung.
"oh, really?" ten laughed.
yingyue joined in ten's laughter, "wow, we have great observation skills."
opening the second box, ten's face lit up and he looked at the girl. "yinyin-ah!"
"we're roommates?!" yingyue gasped.
chenle moved off of her and on renjun instead while she skipped over to ten and was captured in his arms.
"lucky," jaemin playfully pouted.
ten chose their third roomie and showed the earpiece to the members, "who's one is this?"
haechan started to get up, "isn't it haechan's?"
ten grimaced jokingly and the younger boy got on his knees, clasping his hands together as yingyue just laughed out loud at the scene.
"man, really," ten laughed.
haechan went in for a hug and although ten backed away, they still shared one before haechan tackled yingyue with a large grin.
before the game ended, the pairings were: taeyong and taeil; doyoung and yuta; chenle and sicheng; and jaemin and mark.
"to anyone dissatisfied, now is your last chance to change roommates," doyoung announced.
"winwin and i!" yuta giggled.
"alright," doyoung sat back down in the middle. "thanks for watching!"
