【二十四】 dating haechan

• how he confessed

haechan flirted with the members often, especially dayoung, so it was a bit difficult to figure out whether he had actual feelings for the girl or not. while most of nct and the fans believed that haechan and dayoung were just best friends, mark was aware of how he really felt towards her. on the other hand, doyoung knew how dayoung felt about haechan.

majority of nct dream was hanging out on the rooftop of sm entertainment. crisscrossed, dayoung, jisung, and jeno sat together on the ground with a tiny bouncy ball and a handful of jacks in the middle of them. a couple feet away, renjun, mark, and haechan sat together at one of the tables, sipping on their drinks.

"so," the oldest started, his eyes moving over to haechan. "are you gonna confess to her?"

upon hearing the word, confess, renjun accidentally choked on his drink and leaned back into his chair as his hand moved to cover his mouth.

"are you okay?!" mark and haechan quickly asked, patting his back.

"y-yeah," renjun coughed out. "what do you mean by, 'confess to her'?"

"nothing—"

"haechan has a crush on yingyue~!" mark exclaimed, but he was still careful as to not let the younger members hear.

while renjun's eyes widened, haechan leaned back, wearing an expression of disappointment.

"seriously?"

mark shrugged and renjun slapped the younger's shoulder, "why didn't you tell me?!"

"because you would've told her!" haechan fired back.

an idea popped into mark's head as he watched the two bicker.

"haechan-ah, let's make a deal."

always up for a challenge, said boy's attention switched to the oldest. "what?"

"y'know the jacks the kids are playing with?"

"we're not that much older than them.." renjun mumbled before haechan hummed in response.

"if i pick up more jacks the first time i bounce the ball, you have to ask yingyue to be your girlfriend. if you pick up more jacks, i'll do everything you want for a day," mark said.

haechan tapped his chin with his index finger, "two days."

"deal."

the three then headed over to the others. yingyue and jisung laughed together over a sulking jeno. he lost the game so the winners were making him do aegyo. haechan took a seat next to yingyue, a small smile forming on his face as he listened to her laugh.

"are you going first?" he asked mark.

"yeah, sure."

jisung leaned his head on yingyue's shoulder, watching mark bounce the ball up and quickly grab nine out of the ten jacks before the ball fell back into his palm. this caught haechan's attention and made him jealous like it usually did, so when it was his turn, he only picked up five of the rubber jacks.

his expression was blank as mark got up from his spot and started cheering.

"come on, let's leave them alone for now!" he exclaimed, grabbing jisung's, jeno's, and renjun's wrists and dragging them back into the building.

haechan ran after them but stopped at the door. he turned around to face an amused yingyue giggling at her members.

"yah, jiang yingyue!" he called out, causing her to look at him. "let's date!"

she was flustered for a second before smiling with a flushed face, "okay!"

"i have to go kill mark hyung now, i'll be right back!"

and with that, yingyue saw haechan run down the first few steps before the door closed, yelling out for the older boy.
