Chapter 7: The party

"Moooooooom" I say getting into the living room.

"Yes honey?" she asks turning to me.

"Can I please, please go to a party this weekend? Mel is going to be with me and so will Lion. Don't worry I won't drink and I'll be back home by 12" I blabber fast.

"Okay, you can go" mom responds nonchalantly.

"Really?" I ask dumbfounded "Thank you thank you thank you, I love youuuu" I say hugging her.

"Yes, really. You're old enough to take care of yourself and I trust you. I know you won't do something stupid. Love you too" she says hugging me back "And if you do  something stupid, please don't tell the cops I'm your mother." she jokes breaking the hug.

"I won't do something stupid, I promise" I laugh.

"Pick an outfit" Mel says showing me the outfits she arranged on the bed.

We're finally going to the start of the school year party. I was reluctant to it but because Mel is coming too, I agreed on one condition. She can't get drunk. I don't know if she can pull it off but we'll see. She also has a bet with Matt that if she gets drunk, Matt will do her makeup for a month, and if she doesn't, Matt has to walk around the neighborhood with Mel's clothes and makeup.

We are at Mel's house and while I'm looking at the outfits there is a knock on the door.

"Hey babe, hey Cherry, I'll be downstairs waiting for you" Mat says getting inside and giving Mel a peck.

"Okay, but it's going to take a while" Mel smiles innocently.

"Don't worry, I got it covered" Mat smirks, twirling his phone in his hand.

"Alright, see you" Mel says after giving him another peck.

After Mat leaves, Mel turns to me.

"Have you chosen yet?" she asks.

One of them caught my attention. It's a floral black knee length skirt with red roses on it and a black crop top.

"I pick this one" I point to the two piece outfit.

"I knew you were going to pick that one" she says grabbing the outfit and shoving it in my hands. "Now go change, we don't have much time. I'm going to start on my makeup and I'll do yours after you change"

She's wearing a short denim skirt and a striped black and white crop top.

There's only an hour left until the party starts so I have to hurry.

"You should text Lion and ask him if he's going to the party" Mel suggests after I finish dressing up.

"Yeah but I don't know. I don't want to bother him. Maybe he's with his friend right now" I say shrugging.

"Oh come on, just text him" Mel persists.

"Alright, alright. I'm sure he'll go because it's in his friend's house after all" I say grabbing my phone.

'Are you going to the party tonight?' I type and hit send after a couple of tries.

"There, I did it" I say to Mel

"Okay, now, let's get your makeup done. I'm going to make you look like a goddess" she exclaims clapping her hands.

"If you say so" I chuckle.
