"Well I see you two already know each other" Mrs. Anderson says walking in to the living room with a plate full of delicious cookies, passing us.
"Yeah, we kind of met in the park a couple of days ago. When I was walking Mayhem" he says petting the dog. We all go into the living room breaking the awkward tension between me and Lion.
"I'm Cherry's mom, Rosa Reinhardt, nice to meet you Lion." mom says extending her hand to shake "What a peculiar name." she adds.
"Nice to meet you too Mrs. Reinhardt." Lion says, shaking her hand "Mom here, really likes lions so she wanted to name me after them. She says that she named me that because lions are kings of the jungle and she wants me to be the king of this family" he says patting his mom on her shoulder.
"Yep, that's true" she says squeezing his arm.
You can see from afar that they love each other very much. Nowadays it's not so common to see a good relationship between a parent and his kid.
"When I was pregnant with Cherry, I was craving cherries really bad and that's why I named her that." Mom says patting my head "My husband thought it was ridiculous, he wanted to name her some common name like Amelia but I wanted to be special. I've always liked the name Cherry."
"That's cute. Is your husband at work?" Mrs. Anderson asks casually.
Mom and I stiffen at her words. Mrs. Anderson and Lion notice that right away.
"I'm so sorry, I ask too many questions, don't mind me." Mrs. Anderson says.
"It's fine, I'm just not used to this kind of behavior because where we lived, everybody knew about us and our family." My mom says as I start squeezing her hand. "My husband, Robert, died in an airplane crash three years ago."
"I'm so sorry to hear that, have my condolences." says Mrs. Anderson
"I'm sorry" says Lion.
"Okaaay, now, let's lighten up a little" my mom says clapping her hands and chuckling.
Our moms start having conversation about some cooking show they're both watching, leaving us starring at them in disbelief about how close they became right away.
"Hey Cherry, let's go in the backyard." Lion says out of nowhere making me direct my attention to him.
"Sure." I say getting up. I'm bored anyway.
"Wow, you have a big backyard" I say in awe looking at the 250 meter lot.
"Yeah, we have a dog after all. Follow me." He casually says as he leads me to some tree house.
He goes up the stairs and I stare at it in awe because it's a big tree house.
"Did you build this?" I ask climbing it.
"Yep. I get pretty bored so I start crafting something. You should see the shed over there" He says pointing to the small building on the other side of the yard. "I've got tons of unfinished crafts there" he chuckles.
"How can you build something so big just because you were bored? When I get bored I just start reading some book or start watching a new series." I say casually sitting beside him on some pillow on the deck.
"Really? What kind of series?" he asks changing the subject and scoots closer to me, facing me.
"I-I really started liking kind of a horror, science fiction this period." I stutter. He sat too close for my liking so I scoot away from him, right next to the fence.
"Then you should start watching Stranger Things. That a supernatural, horror series. I think you'll really like it." He suggest scooting even closer.
