"Cherry, wake up" I hear some voice waking me up from my precious slumber.
"What??" I slur my words turning on my back, hugging my pillows.
I like to sleep with more than one pillow. Yeah, yeah, I know that people who sleep with more pillows tend to be more lonely but I just find it more comfortable this way.
"Wake up, we got to go somewhere." Finally I recognize my dream destroyer, the wrecker of my slumber, my own mother. I've never could've imagined it. Your own mother betraying you this way.
I look at the clock that reads 3 pm. I've slept too much. Oh well, school hasn't started yet. I'm allowed to do that.
I wash up and meet my mom in the kitchen downstairs. In my still sleepy state, I almost trip on the stairs. I still can't get used to the layout of this house.
"Here, eat this" my mom puts a plate of eggs and bacon in front of me.
"Alright, thanks mom" I say digging in.
After washing up and eating we climb inside my mom's car.
"So where are we going? Are we going to buy some stuff for the house or...?" I ask. I don't think that this is what we're doing because she would've told me.
"Be patient, I'll tell you when we get there" mom implied.
"Fine" I huff.
After literally two minute of driving, mom stops in front of a store named Pet Store. Where I was yesterday. That means we must be getting a dog.
I jump out of the car and hug my mom.
"YESYESYESYES FINALLY! THANK YOU THANK YOU!" I start shouting and jumping up and down in her arms.
She starts chuckling and prying me off of her.
"Calm down, Cher. Let's go in"
"Oh wait, I need to call Mel. She told me to bring her when we're going to adopt a dog."
I dial Mel's number and she picks up instantly.
"Hey Cher, what's up?"
"Do you know how to get to the Pet Store near my house?"
"You mean the one you told me about?" she remembers.
"Yeah, that one" I confirm. "We're going to get a dog and you said you wanted to be here, so come as soon as possible"
"YES FINALLY! I can't waitttt" she exclaims.
She comes after ten minutes. That was fast. She must be excited as I am.
As we enter the store we notice a familiar face.
"Lion, so good to see you. Your mom told me that you worked here"
"Yeah. Good to see you too Mrs. Reinhardt, Cherry, Melanie. What can I do for you today?" he starts acting professional.
"Mom, you knew he worked here? Why didn't you tell me?" I ask. "And why didn't I see you yesterday?" I follow up with a question for Lion.
Mel looks at me with a confused expression.
"I thought you knew" mom says.
"Uh ... it ... I was ... not at work yesterday" Lion stutters.
"Alright, if you say so" I murmured.
Mason comes in right at this moment, overhearing our conversation.
