Chapter 16: Bonus chapter

"MOOOM! I"M HOMEEEEEE" I shout as I enter the front door of my house, dragging my luggage behind.

"Hey sweetie, how was the trip? Did you have fun?" mom asks, helping me.

"Yeah it was fun. We visited a lot of beautiful things and did a lot of fun stuff" I say, taking off my jacket.

"I'm glad you had fun honey. You can unpack later. Now, do you want something to eat?" mom asks.

"No, I just want to take a shower and then I'll show you some pictures I took and explain in detail what we did" I say, going towards the stairs.

"Okay sweetie. I'll be waiting here" mom says as she sits on the sofa comfortably.

After I finish the shower I head downstairs and sit next to mom.

"Okay, so, here we were at the amusement park" I say and I show her pictures of the rides there.

"We didn't ride much rides but it was fun" I add.

As I start scrolling for more pictures mom catches one particular picture of Lion kissing my cheek. 

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What's this?" mom asks amusingly, tapping on the picture to open.

I thought I hid that one. Apparently not. Great job Cher.

"Nothing" I say quickly, turning my phone off.

"Did something happen? Do I have to pay Elly 50 bucks???" mom asks curiously, turning towards me.

"What? You did a bet on whether we got together or not?" I ask mom in disbelief.

"No, we didn't. I just wanted you to say it yourself that you got together" she says, chuckling. 

I start glaring at her and she continues chuckling.

"I'm so happy for you two. I really am. I wanted you to be together. He's a really nice boy Cher. Keep him" mom says as she goes in for a hug.

"I know mom. I am happy too" I say, hugging her back.

I really wanted mom to approve of this. Her opinion means so much to me.

After the mother daughter moment, Mel comes to catch up on the situation with Lion or the 'juicy details' as she likes to call it.

"Okay so, spill" she says, placing herself on my bed still with her jacket on.

"Calm down. Let me take your jacket first" I say, extending my hand for her to give me her jacket.

"Okay so, now spill" she says after handing me the jacket.

"Well, remember when you and Mason were calling us for the amusement ride?" I ask.

"I knew we interrupted something" she says knowingly.

"Yeah well, we played truth or dare game, I gathered courage and asked him if he likes someone. He told me that he does and we almost kissed." 

"Why do we always have such a bad timing for these kinds of stuff?" she asks rhetorically. "Anyway.." she continues "... when did you two hook up? Was it at the Ferris Wheel?"

"Yep. When we were stuck at the top, he kissed me to distract me from the height because I was scared"

"OH MY GODD!!" she squeals "That's so sweeeet" she starts hugging the pillow.

"Yeah I know" I join her on the hugging pillows squad.

"Didn't you say you will focus on your studies now and find a boyfriend later? Huuuuh?" Mel asks cocking an eyebrow.

"Whaaaaaat??? Noooo. Who said that? It wasn't me" I hide my face in the pillow.

"Suuureeeee. Keep telling yourself that" she chuckles.

I drop the pillow and lie on my belly.

"Fine, but I got to know Lion better and it happened. At first I refrained from liking him because he had a girlfriend, but when they broke up I was like 'Fuck it' and decided to like him. Heck we're 18 only once, we need to live our life to the fullest because we can only do that now." I say, hiding my face in my hands.

How lucky we are to find boyfriends that are best friends and have them at the same time.  

"I'm so happy for both of us" she giggles.

"Yeah, me too." I say.

My life changed so much since I've moved here. I've become more confident, I've made new friends and most importantly I've become happier and better as a person.

I can't say I've matured but I'm working on it.
