Gosheven and the creature locked eyes. He didn't know what this creature was, but he could tell just by its squinted orange eyes that it didn't know what he was either. The others sat in silent concern. From their angle, they could only see Gosheven's expression, an uncertain fluctuation between amazement and terror. Gosheven began to inch closer to the jewel-eyed creature. He figured if he would be the first human this thing had ever seen, he'd better make a good impression. He came closer and the humanoid blue beast began to inhale the cold air through his angler fish-like teeth. The pockets along his body began to expand even further than before. "He must be trying to intimidate," Gosheven thought. Gosheven began to flex his muscles and straightened his posture in an effort to look bigger. If the creature was trying to intimidate, he knew he had to at least make himself out to be its equal. The creature began to chuckle at Gosheven's attempts. He could tell it didn't take him seriously and he couldn't afford that.
"Oh, you think this is funny huh? I got something for you to laugh at." Gosheven challenge.
Of course, the creature couldn't understand, but he knew what it would understand. The heat began to ignite in his stomach and his once calm warmth erupted into a surge of singeing purple flames that melted the snow and scorched the area around them. The creature's laugh ended abruptly and it stood. It was in that moment Gosheven realized he wouldn't have ever intimidated the thing with size. It had to be at least eight feet tall he figured, and its body possessed muscles that the human anatomy was unfamiliar with. It looked down at Gosheven and a burst of intense azure flames that engulfed the area for miles. The truck doors slammed and knocked Kaga and the others back through the truck. Gosheven stood firm against the bombardment of heat. The creature's fist balled. He knew what that meant Gosheven winded back and the creature jabbed him, twisted its fist, and ripped through Gosheven's stomach. Blood gushed as Gosheven bruised organs hung out of his body. He hit the ground feeling only the strength fade from him and the cold snow prickling his guts.
A hellish scream let out like nothing the creature had ever heard before and Kaga busted through the door with rage and sadness in her eyes.
"Kaga no!" Orunya cried.
The azure flames contracted and form the shape of a cube in the creature's hand. It tossed the cube at Kaga and its light swallowed her, leaving only the cube. The creature kneeled, took the cube into its hand, and pocketed it.
"We need to get out of here," Draven whispered.
"Agreed." Aapti quavered.
They readied themselves and Aapti notice that Orunya wasn't budging. She turned back.
"Orunya, hey Orunya, come on!" Aapti begged and began to shake her. Still, Orunya didn't move.
"Draven, I think she's in shock... Draven?"
Draven hoofed it without warning and climbed over the massive roots. It didn't matter to him in the slightest that his ribs were cracked or that his arm was broken. None of that would matter if he ended up dead in the middle of an arctic forest that nobody ever heard of. A blue flash of light shined through the overgrown flowers. Draven dipped into a crevice between two roots and laid perfectly still. He pulled his knife and waited, hoping that he wouldn't have to use it. A cube rolled the crevice and landed on Draven's chest.
"Shit."
The cube's blue light busted.
Soon after, the blue man arrived at the colossal wooden gates of the stone wall.
"G'ravek, ya returned home!" bubbled one of the guards. The other guard turned away from G'ravek with a frown, but he didn't pay that guard any mind.
