Chapter 17: The Life Lounge
Met Visogue, her known aliases include: the Writhing Blaze, the Eternal Shifter, the Magician Slayer, and most infamously the Collector of Faces.
Though there is no definitively known origin for her, it can not be denied that this creature exists. Her presence has been mentioned several times throughout Lotania's recorded history though some believe she predates even that. However, what can be agreed upon universally is that she does not act randomly. She has been present in large and small scale revolts throughout history with such consistency that she has been coined as a symbol of change in revolutionary periods.
"Ahem..."
Though it should be noted some appearances have been disputed under claims that some descriptions of her are far too drastic in difference. Because of this, a check-list was formed to validate actual Met Visogue encounters.
"Ummm excuse me?"
The first sign of authenticity is a massive crown-like array of bone that resembles two waves spreading in opposite directions. The second sign is her veins which run hot with liquid imageon that shifts from pitch black to murky blue-violet. The third sign is her glowing face, clear enough to see her skull at points yet bright enough to mistake for fire in its own right. The fourth and most definitive of these signs is-
"Hey!" A distorted voice barked.
The lotaness slammed her book down and met eyes with a sight that robbed her of composure.
"A great crown, murky veins of liquid fire, glowing visage, but..." She peered back at the book only for the lotaness to slam her massive hand over it.
"You're really starting to piss me off with this fucking book!" the lotaness fumed and swiped the book off the counter. "Now, can I please get some service?!"
"Uhm. Yeah. Sure, what can vi he-"
"Wait no, I'm sorry, that wasn't right of me to just throw around your book. It just really burns me to be ignored."
"Vi can't see how anyone would be able to ignore you," the lotaness said still staring through the opening in the customer's expanding and contracting veil of veiny tubed lungs.
"Hey, I don't like being stared at either," the lotaness hinted and nudged her head as if commanding her to look away.
"Forgive me, you are just unique compared to others of this country. If you don't mind my asking we are you fro-"
"I do. Especially, since you haven't performed your service yet,"
"You are absolutely right. How may help you?"
"I'm looking for a lotaness who may have been taken. She looks a lot like your dictator."
"You mean the Fulcrum?"
"No, I don't."
The couldn't help but giggle at the customer's words.
"Vi am sorry Miss, vi haven't seen anyone like that especially not being drug around like some hostage."
"Thank you anyway," the customer nodded and put the book back on the table.
She watched as the customer turned away, only giving her a large totem and shifting armor pieces to look at as she walked to the door. Then an idea sparked.
"Wait," the lotaness called and customer stopped. "This store isn't the most law-abiding of establishments. If your friend is out there vi may be able to contact someone who could make your search easier."
