Chapter 10: Azure
Eyawa's leg rose skyward and slammed into the ground. She repeated the skyward motion with the other leg and slammed again, shaking the ground she and W'rodcha stood on.
"You know how I can tell you won't be a good Yorgum? You're not smart like G'ravek or D'marov. I mean yeah D'marov is a coward, but at least he knew not to fight me head on and G'ravek threw me in one of his boxes as soon as he could." Eyawa said choosing to ignore W'rodcha words.
W'rodcha was genuinely confused by the fact that her words had not detoured her, but it wasn't like she planned on giving the lotaness that aided in the assassination of the Yorgum a stay of execution.
"G'ravek and D'marov handled ya the way they did because they were afraid of ya. But to me ya just like any of the other silver I keep in line," W'rodcha growled, pulling out a single freshly sharpened dagger with four holes along the hilt that each held a spike of their own.
W'rodcha gripped her blade with a tightness made evident by the bulging of biceps as she took her boxer-like stance.
"Like I said, fucking idiot!"
Eyawa dashed forward and thrust her palm at W'rodcha. W'rodcha dodged, bringing her blade to Eyawa's jaw in the same motion. She caught W'rodcha's arm just before the blade touched and launched W'rodcha over her shoulder. W'rodcha flew and crashed, rolling through the snow and broken stone to regain her footing. She peered upward and saw the twisted golden face of a flaming demon flying straight for her. W'rodcha shot her herself out of the way on a jet imageon just before it landed and threw her blade into the flaming aftermath. The dagger gashed across Eyawa nose and as she held her face in pain, W'rodcha rushed into the smoke with a fist yellow-green imageon reeled backward for a strike, but Eyawa was ready this time. When W'rodcha came Eyawa ducked and sprang into W'rodcha, horns first. W'rodcha dissipated or rather what she thought was W'rodcha. The real W'rodcha snatched Eyawa by her waist, hugging her tightly as she held her in the air.
"Let me go!" Eyawa yelled as W'rodcha's grip tightened and she hand glowed.
W'rodcha guided the blade she'd previously thrown deep into Eyawa's back and slammed her into the ground. Eyawa howled in agony and wrapped her leg around W'rodcha's waste. She pulled W'rodcha down and took her position above. She covered her fist with imageon and jabbed at W'rodcha, who dodge letting the spiritual fire scorch the earth under it as she yanked Eyawa's head down and blew imageon into her face. The fire burned eyes and W'rodcha's steel-toed boot bashed the blade further into her back. Eyawa grunted and collapsed onto W'rodcha who struck her with a fist of imageon that sent Eyawa tumbling off of her and onto the hilt of the knife. W'rodcha took advantage and lunged at her only to be caught in Eyawa's hold kneed by the force of springing leg. W'rodcha spit up her green blood and flew through the air yanking her knife across Eyawa's back on her way out.
"Gahhh, you bitch!" Eyawa growled, reaching at the bleeding gash on her back.
"Oh ya, fuck me for being a better fighter," W'rodcha mocked and returned to her stance. "If I'm such a bitch how's about ya just come and beat me already!" she goated.
Eyawa wasn't a fool however, she could tell W'rodcha was trying to get her to come close and no doubt, so she could use her imageon path. That was one weakness she noticed about it, she had to be close for it to work but, at the same time, Eyawa couldn't do much with that info. Most of the projectile attacks were focused on dazing the enemy so she could get close and the ones that were lethal either had pathetic startup time or used serpentine and anything with that toxin was out of the question. If she was going to succeed in defeating W'rodcha she needed to find another weakness but if she was going to do that she needed to see W'rodcha's path for what it truly was.
